As we move towards Memorial Day weekend the gas prices been dropping. This is so odd usually they start to go up especially in college town Wisconsin I live in. What about the rest of you folks, and with the Gulf of Mexico spill the price should be up. I hope this fall is not prepping for something heinous to come. It is election year too so hope a pre-emptive anything will occur in hindsight.

Late last year - Bob Chapman said it would be around this time of year(late Spring/May) when the elite would make our economy look like a FACADE of getting gooder and gooder.

I'm not surprised that oil is down currently - the elite is obviously manipulating oil prices to make it look like the recovery's coming, and then of course, the supposedly 290K jobs added recently.

I agree the 15 cent (in 2 weeks) price drop drew a false flag to me.

Arco's got gas for $2.75 right now up here. That's definitely low, as it was over $3 not so long ago.

Well no wonder why most of the American public has no clue over how bad this oil spill is - they look at our current gas prices, and they're reaction obviously is, "Everything seems to be getting better, I guess that whole oil spill in the Gulf has gone away".

When the crap hits the fan, alot of people are going to be in for a shock.

In the past a oil pipe would break somewhere and gas would increase 20 cents. So now we have a the biggest oil leak of all time and the price goes down??

My guess there is a big increase coming in way of a gas tax so they decided not to raise prices during the Memorial Day weekend.

Rough estimates by retail folks in general say that price on gas will hit between $3.15/9 to $3.25/9 by end of august, and by November $4.99/9.

I put the word out to my 'on the fence' crowd that gas is possibly going to $4 around November. I suggest doing the same.

Still the same price in my town, but I am in California.

Last I checked, gas prices have been dropping(at least in my area) - but it can only mean one thing, something BIG is imminent.

I'm in western NY state, and yes, we have an important election coming up: Governor of New York State. Andrew Cuomo took his sweet time "announcing" his bid, while Obama basically told the current Governor, Patterson, to not run for reelection (he was the Lt. Governor before Spitzer was ousted for the "call girl scandal"). The mayor of Rochester (Bob Duffy), who was gunning for mayorial control of the Rochester (NY) City School District, "suddenly" became Andrew Cuomo's running mate for Lt. Governor; now, the mayorial control debate has been put on the back burner, and the New York City School District is reconsidering the whole issue. Yes, I agree, something strange is being set up. The usual gas rising prices during summertime hasn't happend this year, yet there's all these apparent "market-driving" types of situations (the Gulf oil situation is one) that seem to contradict lower prices. I believe that by the November elections, something big is going to happen in the United States.

It certainly seems to me that now (gas has been at a low of $2.45/gal as of yesterday) they want people to feel warm and comfortable. Oil is under control! Everything's going to be alright!

I'm wondering if these low (haha!) prices aren't just a bit of lubricant before the pocketbooks are ravaged in the fall and winter.
