I love how Justin goes postal when Alex asks him about whether he was breast fed & starts screaming at him to answer the question.

I thought he was kinda lame here.
He gave really good answers but after he started talking about breast feeding and single parents I think he jumped off the deep end.
I think it's good for Alex to have fun but I think he needs to let people know he's just messing around or if he seriously wants to debate whether single parents/formula feed creates liberal children.
The irate caller afterward was being a hassle too, but at least it wasn't John the Communist who called in yet AFREAKIN again, but this time to Bermas.
I was kinda surprised Bermas didn't recognize John the Communist, I've been listening to the show off and on for a few months and I know John the Communist.

Man, I've been listening to AJ for about 4 years and have never heard a call like that one before. I thought that guy's head was going to explode. And yes, John the commie from Ohio calls in with the same old lame crap every time... "Alex, it would take me 10 hours to explain how wrong you are about everything..." Why does this turd even listen to the show in the first place? And on top of that, why does he call in, repeatedly?

Either fight corruption effectively or mess around with potential allies and mess up like this. I admit not to have heard the Justin case but if it is anything like the one posted on you tube, a nonbeliever being told that he was not breastfed ergo has smaller brain, it is pathetic.
Plus, it is obviously untrue. Breastfeeding does not influence the volume of the brain, perhaps the number or health of brain cells, but the size? Does breast milk contain growth hormones, or retrovirii necessary to augment/fire up the genetic blueprint of the brain? Or provitamins/minerals that absolutely can not be obtained anywhere else and are totally necessary for the growth of brain tissue? Didn't think so.
Such an argument would have a value if it was meant to create an "AHA!" moment. If Alex told the caller something this hillarious, but with all seriousness, and the caller would believe him and then Alex would say: "See? I just told you this nonsense and you accepted it without question, how much MORE do you accept this way I wonder?" it would be good. This way? Naaaah....

To be fair, there was no hope for this guy being a potential ally, or bringing him into the fold. In my opinion, Alex gave him more time than he deserved. He sounded like an Obama-bot, although I can't say that for sure since he never mentioned Obama by name.

Not to sound dogmatic or anything, but if you're on the side of the truth, everybody of good intent is your ally. We will have to count on "the meek" in the end (push to shove moment), if an end like this ever comes.

Mike, Breastfeeding and Brain Development (Cognitive Development)
Children who are breastfed have better neurodevelopment outcomes, and the duration of breastfeeding also effects a child's intelligence. There are three substances, which may explain the association between breastfeeding and higher scores on intelligence tests. There are two fatty acids associated with the development of nerve cells, retina and the brain, and are present in breastmilk but are absent in infant formula and cow's milk. These, decosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and aracidonic acid (ARA), have been shown in experiments to improve eyesight and some motor responses in infants and young children. The third, lactose, a carbohydrate, is a readily available source of galactose, which is essential in the production of the galactolipids, including cerebroside. These galactolipids are essential to CNS development. The amount of lactose in the milk of a species and the relative size of the brain varies and is the highest in human milk. The fact that lactose is found only in milk and not in other animal and plant sources enhances the significance of its high level in human milk. We are reporting studies by various workers that prove these points. Following scientific evidences clearly points out the association.
These studies done over last few years prove the point that breastfeeding enhances the neurodevelopment of infants and their intellectual and scholastic ability in later life. The increase in the IQ by breastfeeding is directly related to the duration of breastfeeding. These benefits are strongest for the infants of low birth weight on breastmilk feeding. Poor who are more likely to enter into child malnutrition are more likely to benefit from enhanced optimal breastfeeding practices. http://www.bpni.org/information_sheets/IS-9.pdfhttp://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/nbbw.cgi?Gw=breast+feeding+brain+development

This sounds like righwing/Christian nonsense. The best way to improve the neuro-development of children is to inject them with mercury.

Do you know how many things have nutrition scientists over the years "seen connection" between? They are even more rabid "dot connectors" than conspiracy theorists! From soy sauce and tendency towards impotency through fresh air and aging, if you had to believe all that dietologists say you would have to start subsisting on prana as the indian yogi they found out recently does. Plus you will probably have to learn to be an anaerobic organism, do you know how unhealthy it is to breath all that oxygen into your system...?
But with all the fairness, it is logical that breastfeeding should be healthy because we are "wired" for it; even the science paper, however, does not indicate that it would have to do anything with the volume of the child's brain.

All the time you've spent typing this you could have modified my search from brain development to size and guess what.... mpact of breast milk on IQ, brain size and white matter development.

Abstract
Although observational findings linking breast milk to higher scores on cognitive tests may be confounded by factors associated with mothers' choice to breastfeed, it has been suggested that one or more constituents of breast milk facilitate cognitive development, particularly in preterms. Because cognitive scores are related to head size, we hypothesised that breast milk mediates cognitive effects by affecting brain growth. We used detailed data from a randomized feeding trial to calculate percentage of breast milk (%EBM) in the infant diet of 50 adolescents. MRI scans were obtained (mean age=15y9m), allowing volumes of total brain (TBV), white and grey matter (WMV, GMV) to be calculated. In the total group %EBM correlated significantly with Verbal IQ (VIQ); in boys, with all IQ scores, TBV and WMV. VIQ was, in turn, correlated with WMV and, in boys only, additionally with TBV. No significant relationships were seen in girls or with grey matter. These data support the hypothesis that breast milk promotes brain development, particularly white matter growth. The selective effect in males accords with animal and human evidence regarding gender effects of early diet. Our data have important neurobiological and public health implications and identify areas for future mechanistic study.
