In "Physical Anthropology" class, over 20 years ago at  U.C.L.A. we were taught there is really no such thing as race per se, scientifically.  That is to say, there is no one set of genetically determined characteristics which could define any particular "race": "White", "Black/African", "Asian" etc.

You can find members of any of these races who have characteristics which you would not necessarily fit with any given definition.  The closest anthropologists come to "race" is haplotype, but very few populations are very pure as far as X- or Y- linked chromosomes, say,  are concerned.  The purest "races" if there are any, would not be "Caucasians" or "East Asians" as some members of these groups might often believe.  The purest races genetically would be "Amerindians".

No, I am not an "Indian."  I am a "Caucasian/Western European" (and Sephardic-Jewish?) mutt.  For what it's worth.  Scientifically, this question is utter bullshit--meaningless, except from a sociological viewpoint! Hint.
