Hal Turner took the stand today in his federal trial and accused the FBI of instructing him to make violent and racist statements. The North Bergen, New Jersey, radio talk show host is on trial for allegedly threatening three Chicago-based federal appeals court judges. In June of 2009, Turner said the judges “deserved to be killed” for a ruling they made in a gun control case.

In more than two hours of testimony, Turner described how he was recruited in 2003 by the FBI’s Newark-based Joint Terrorism Task Force. He said he was paid “in excess of $100,000” by the FBI during his almost five years as an informant, according to The Record.

Turner’s first trial ended in deadlock back in December. A mistrial was declared after the jury deadlocked 9 to 3 in favor of acquitting Turner who was originally indicted in Illinois.

During the first trial, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Amy Pickett, the third highest ranking FBI Official in New York City, admitted that Turner was involved in “National Security Intelligence.”

On February 16, The Record reported federal prosecutors sought to bar Turner from revealing his longtime role as a FBI informant to a jury during the current trial. “Prosecutors want U.S. District Judge Donald Walter to preclude Turner’s lawyers from referring to his background as a confidential source for the FBI,” the newspaper reported.

According to research conducted by Alexandra Natapoff of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, the FBI maintains an army of at least 15,000 “confidential informants,” while the DEA admits to having 4,000 snitches. “But the number of informants working directly for the Feds is probably only a tiny fraction of the entire stukachi [a Russian epithet used to describe a secret police informant] population, given the uncounted masses of snitches working for state and local police agencies,” writes William Norman Grigg of the Pro Libertate blog.

On March 2, two federal judges testified in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn that they feared for their lives after Turner posted the comments on his blog. “I read it as a threat to kill me,” testified U.S. Appeals Court Judge William Bauer.

However, neither judge asked the U.S. Marshal Service for special protection.

“The government’s case began to fall apart almost immediately when government witnesses confirmed Turner was a national security intelligence operative for the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force from 2003 through 2008,” the Family of Hal Turner blog noted on February 24. “Turner’s attorneys pointed out that the FBI itself ‘counseled’ Turner on the lawful use of violent rhetoric so he could flush out radicals before they committed acts of terrorism.”

The Family of Hal Turner blog, however, does not provide evidence of “radicals” bent on committing acts of terrorism in order to make its case. The FBI has a long track record of creating fake terror groups and urging easily conned patsies to plot harebrained terror attacks.

According to the MIAC report and the Department of Homeland Security’s “rightwing extremism” report, the government considers Ron Paul supporters, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, returning veterans, and Second Amendment advocates a threat. Both reports conflate the miniscule white supremacist movement with the larger and vastly more popular patriot movement.

In addition, the government considers the anti-war movement a threat. Responding to ACLU FOIA requests filed in 20 states on behalf of more than 150 organizations and individuals in 2006, the government released documents revealing monitoring and infiltration by the FBI and local law enforcement, targeting political, environmental, anti-war and faith-based groups.

Editor’s note: The Brooklyn Ink first broke the story of Revolution Muslim, the organization that has issued a threat against the creators of “South Park” for their depiction of the Prophet Muhummad. The story profiled the group’s founder, Yousef Al-Khattab who grew up as Joseph Cohen in Brooklyn. Al-Khattab, in a reader comment, said he left Revolution Muslim in December of 2009. The story appears below, as does a follow up on the shutting down of Revolution Muslim’s website.

“I don’t know if this is my jihad,” says Yousef Al-Khattab. “It’s my obligation to command the good and forbid the evil.” His American based website, Revolution Muslim, has become the scourge of Jewish bloggers and cyber vigilantes across the country, an odd achievement for a person born into Judaism and educated in Jewish schools, who has lived in Hassidic communities in Williamsburg and Jewish settlements in Gaza.

Born Joseph Cohen, Khattab says he converted to Islam after coming across a Muslim from the United Arab Emirates in a Jewish chat-room while in Netivot, Israel in 1998. Their to and fro on religion lasted two years, and for Khattab, the exchange confirmed previous doubts about Judaism and eventually prompted him to embrace Islam after reading an English translation of the Quran. The exchanges, he says, reaffirmed his belief that rabbis use deception to keep Jews subservient to them.

His wife and four kids, the oldest of whom was eight at the time, followed soon after.

Today, at 40, a cab driver from Queens, Khattab spends his days denouncing capitalism, Judaism and Israel’s occupation of Palestine through his website and namesake organization. Head shaved, mustache trimmed and sporting a bushy beard, Khattab addresses his audience in fluent English and Arabic and employs his sarcastic wit in video updates that appear irregularly on his website.

Gory images of blood, bombs and the bodies of Palestinian children appear in several slideshows and videos on the site. In one video post, Khattab urges his viewers to find out who are the leaders of Jewish organizations like the United Jewish Federation and Chabad Lubavitch and “deal with them directly at their homes,” but in a civil and peaceful way he adds.

In other posts Khattab tries to persuade people to boycott Starbucks for its alleged relationship with the Israeli army and encourages people to hold leaders of large Jewish organizations accountable for supporting what he terms as a genocide against Palestinians.

Khattab says the American government has no problem with his website since he is just expressing his freedom of speech. But those who are being held accountable do, he says. These would include Lubavitch and Yeshiva University, which he claims are sending soldiers to Israel to fight the Palestinians, and anybody that supports Israel.

“It’s not in our constitution that we have to love the Jews and love Judaism,” he says. He says he generally tries to stay away from Jews but contends that it’s not the Jews that he dislikes, but Judaism, or what he refers to as Rabbanical Judaism and the religious Jews. Khattab lays out his reasons for disliking what he terms as Orthodox, frum, Jews. These include a claim that Jews run an underground economy, and that, in his mind, Jews are the reason the U.S. separated church and state in its Constitution.

He recalls an incident in which a Lebanese born immigrant named Rashid Baz shot at a bus filled with Lubavitcher Hasidim near the Brooklyn Bridge and killed a 16-year-old in March 1994; “Baz took it to the next level,” he says. “He understood Lubavitch probably better than we did. “

Despite his hatred for Judaism there are some Jews whose opinions he respects, like Noam Chomsky and Norman Finkelstein, an outspoken critic of Israel’s foreign policy and human rights record who presented the notion that many Jews are capitalizing on the Holocaust.

Although he differs with Chomsky’s anarchist theories, he says he respects him for critiquing the “neo-feudalist” culture in the U.S. and for exposing America for what it is. The only Jews he speaks to are secular Jews of the “Noam Chomsky persuasion,” whom he contends hate religious Jews as much as he does. And if an Orthodox Jew hails his cab, he believes it’s his obligation towards fairness to give him a ride.

Bill Warner, a Private investigator and cyber vigilante, who says he has helped shut down several jihadist websites across America by reporting them to their Internet service providers and the authorities, says people like Khattab incite others to commit violent acts, rather than doing them on their own. “Whatever problems there are in the Middle East, he brings them to Queens, New York,” he says. “He tries to get people to do things.”

He points to a recent post on Revolution Muslim that had an image of the Chabad Lubavitch headquarters in Crown Heights, Brooklyn with captions pointing out where the main temple is, and noting that it is always full at prayer times; the post also identified a Jewish talis bag as a great place to store “Islamic info.” Warner says this post presented a credible threat and it caused the NYPD to come in full force to protect the synagogue.

The idea that any of his posts presents a threat to the Lubavitch is absurd says Khattab. “I don’t even know where they got that idea from,” he says. “There was no threat on the Jews. They can all bite me.”

Chabad Lubavitch declined to comment on their reaction to Khattab’s post, and they do not comment on security procedures, but in a written statement to The Brooklyn Ink, Rabbi Motti Seligson of Chabad.org said, “Although not all threats are serious, we work closely with law enforcement to ensure that all threats are handled properly as safety is of paramount concern.”

Khattab is cognizant of his First Amendment rights and seems well versed in how far he can go legally with his message. The Constitution, he says, affords him the right to freedom of speech, expression and religion; “I mean hell, we have the right to bear arms and form militias if we want,” he says.

Bill Warner has a different take. “The man’s a lunatic. That’s not freedom of speech. Not when you incite terrorism, that’s not freedom of speech,” he says. He says that the FBI and the NYPD have been to Khattab’s house two or three times and that it is only a matter of time that the website will be shut down and that Khattab will be arrested.

Khattab acknowledges that he is under surveillance and that the police have visited him on a few occasions, but Khattab is not afraid of being arrested. He says he loves to pray and exercise, both of which he can continue to do in prison, and that as long as his brain works he will continue to speak his mind. “They better give me a frontal lobotomy to take me out,” he says.

Despite repeated requests, the NYPD and FBI did not comment on whether Khattab is under surveillance.

People like Warner can work day and night to put down his website says Khattab, but they won’t be successful, and even if they are, he can always put it up somewhere else. He says that he has a good web host that understands that Revolution Muslim is not racist and is not a hate group. A quick query on whoishostingthis.com shows that the site is hosted on Go Daddy, a popular American web host. Warner says that American web hosting companies are popular with sites such as Revolution Muslim, because they offer easier access to a higher resolution and bandwidth needed to run a multimedia rich site.

“There have always been hate groups that targeted sympathetic people through the mail, but now their messages are accessible to so many more people,” says Joel Levy, New York Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League. The Anti-Defamation League is aware of Revolution Muslim and is concerned about the existence of this site and the message it presents he says.

Levy says that the site doesn’t make specific, articulate threats against anybody, which could be the basis of a police investigation. “They are using some frightening, intimidating language, there’s no question about it,” says Levy, but “They seem to be very, very cautious and understand what the limits are of free speech, and just go to the edge and try to not step over that boundary. “

Revolution Muslim has 548 registered members and, according to Alexa.com, has viewers from all across the world. The top three countries by viewers are the U.S., Singapore and Israel; approximately 58 percent of viewers are from the U.S.

The site’s mission, according to its mission statement, is to spread the word of Islam and to support Sheikh Abdullah Al-Faisal, who was jailed in 2003 in the United Kingdom for seeking the murder of Jews and Hindus in sermons and was deported from the United Kingdom to Jamaica in 2007, according to the BBC.

Khattab envisions a world in which Islamic law, or Shariah, is established across the globe. He doesn’t expect this to happen in his lifetime, or to start in America (Somalia and Sudan are more viable options). But it will happen one day he says, “In the end Prophet Isa (Jesus) is going to come and he’s going to snap the crosses and kill the pigs and the only choice will be Shariah.”

the point of the comment IMO is that these patsies are probably part of an overall network (whether they know it or not). If the lie starts getting exposed, then follow up teams, logistical teams, cover teams can post cookie cutter comments to try and sway conversations. This is part of the fake blooging going on. CHICAGO — The charismatic Chicago man accused of scouting out the deadly 2008 Mumbai siege and a plot to kill a Danish cartoonist plans to plead guilty to terrorism charges, his lawyer said Tuesday.

An online blogger who has targeted the creators of South Park for satirizing issues surrounding the depiction of the Prophet Muhammad, has distributed jihadist materials and promoted violence against non-Muslims through a variety of online platforms for at least a year.

Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee, the username of the blogger who identified himself as Zachary Adam Chesser in January, publicizes terrorist propaganda, endorses suicide attacks and espouses hatred against Jews, Israel and Shi’a Muslims through a variety of Web sites, blogs and social networking sites.


“The jihad movement has moved from the mountains and caves to the bedrooms of every major city around the world,” Chesser wrote in a March 2010 post to the Web site of Revolution Muslim (RM), a fringe anti-Semitic Muslim organization that justifies terrorist attacks and other forms of violence against non-Muslims.  Chesser appears to be an emerging member of the group.

On April 15, the morning after the episode of South Park aired, Chesser made his first comment about the program on his Twitter feed. “May Allah kill Matt Stone and Trey Parker and burn them in Hell for all eternity. They insult our prophets Muhammad, Jesus, and Moses…”   


Chesser posted a similar entry to his Mujahid Blog on the same day (the post was later added to the RM Web site). The post included a picture of the assassination of Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh by a Muslim extremist in 2004 with the caption: “Theo Van Gogh – Have Matt Stone And Trey Parker Forgotten This?” In the post, Chesser provided the address to Stone and Parker’s offices, telling readers to “contact them” or “pay Comedy Central…a visit.” Chesser also noted: “We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh if they do air this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them.”

On April 18, Chesser posted a comment to Revolution Muslim’s Web site, calling on supporters to help in the “defense of the Prophet campaign.” The post included a purported lecture of Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S. born Muslim cleric living in Yemen who distributes radical sermons online, retelling a story about a Jewish leader who was assassinated for defaming the Prophet during the 7th century.  The post ends with the message by Revolution Muslim: “Join us in this campaign to let Matt Stone & Trey Parker know that…the dust will never settle down.”



Reader comments in response to Chesser’s recent posts include threatening language.  For example, “I wish i [sic] could slit their throats with a rusty knife,so [sic] it be more painful….” and, “So the options we have to deal with these two kafirs… Killing and annihilating them… Crucifying them… Cutting off from opposite sides their hands and feet with axes.”

Chesser, who described himself as a “Muslim revert” and former student at George Mason University, lives in Virginia, according to Facebook profile operated by an individual identifying herself as his wife (the profile also included many of Chesser’s posts).


Chesser’s online history includes numerous posts to a variety of blogs, Web sites and social networking sites. Among them is the Revolution Muslim (RM) Web site, on which Chesser is a contributor and has posted jihadist propaganda. For example, after the March 2010 subway bombings in Moscow, which killed at least 40 people and wounded 60 others, Chesser praised the two female suicide bombers.

During an online discussion run by RM in February 2010, Chesser wrote: “May Allah blow up the Jews and the Rawaafidh [shi'a].”  Chesser, who appears to be an emerging member of the group, has indicated that he is seeking people to help him start a RM chapter in D.C., closer to his apparent home in Virginia.


Chesser has also posted on a Web site run by Samir Khan, a North Carolina-based blogger who also distributes jihadist propaganda. In addition to extremist sites, Chesser uses mainstream social networking sites, like Facebook and YouTube, to post many of his comments and materials.  In April 2010, administrators disabled his Facebook account, according to his wife.

Chesser’s Mujahid Blog, “dedicated to those who give their lives for this religion,” includes both original materials as well as reposts of various terrorist propaganda.  In a March 21, 2010, post titled “Counter Counter Terrorism #1,” Chesser gives instructions on how to counter counterterrorism efforts and proposes advertising the successes of the mujahideen with a “clear bias.” He suggests using terms like “5 Western pigs sent to Hellfire in sha’a Allah,” when talking about non-Muslims who have been killed.

The Mujahid blog, operated by wordpress, also has a forum that allows others to post materials. In a January 25, 2010, post to this forum, he identified his full name as “Zachary A Chesser.” He also said, “I am a revert to Islam and I was a student at George Mason University. Feel free to go to GMU’s [Muslim Student Association] page on facebook and ask them about me if you are seriously worried about that.” The Mujahid blog appears to have been suspended by wordpress on April 22 for violation of terms of service.

Youtube Jihad Blog;

The Youtube Jihad Blog consists of Chesser and five other contributors. The contributors – who post videos containing fatwas, lectures, nasheeds (Islamic songs) and other materials – also operate YouTube channels that include the same videos. One video posted by Chesser on February 22, 2010, titled “America Tuta Fika,” shows several militants pointing their guns at the screen as Chesser sings “America, America, America here we come, we come to please our lord, and jihad is all we know.”

YouTube – Al Quran Wa Al-Ahadeeth Channel;

Chesser maintains a YouTube channel under the name “Al Quran wa al-Ahadeeth,” where he posts numerous terrorist videos, sometimes shortly after they are released elsewhere. In addition, he posts English translations of Arabic sermons. One of these sermons, titled “The Permissibility of Self-Sacrificial Operations” by Shaykh Yousuf Al-Uyayri, tells Muslims that in order to expel Jews from Israel, “the best treatment and the greatest medicine that we apply to the brothers of monkeys and pigs (i.e. the Jews) is that we perform these martyrdom operations.”

Chesser also posts comments to other YouTube channels. In April 2009, in response to a video of a speech by Israeli diplomat Mark Regev, he commented: “Ya Allaah! Destroy this vile nation… we will crush these vile devils like bugs.”

Facebook;

Chesser’s Facebook profile, which was disabled in April, included many of the same videos, sermons and other materials that he posts on his blogs. For example, Chesser posted dozens of sermons by Anwar al-Awlaki. His wife reposted the majority of these materials on her Facebook profile as well.

Twitter;

Chesser has two Twitter accounts, one under the name Mujahid Blog and the other under his alias Abu Talhah. He uses his accounts to direct followers to the materials he posts elsewhere online and to make other statements. On March 22, 2010 he tweeted: “United States still the slave of Israel.  Hillary Clinton declares relationship with the genocidal regime ‘Rock solid.’”

Chesser’s scribd account is filled with various extremist documents. One document that he wrote in conjunction with Younus Abdullah Muhammad, a spokesperson for Revolution Muslim, is an article that refutes a West Point study claiming that Al Qaeda kills mostly Muslims.

A Web site used by al-Qaida to recruit car bombers, encourage war on the West and provide a forum for Islamic militants went online from Phoenix this week.

The site, a well-known and popular forum for Islamic terrorists and their sympathizers, was the first to report the death of senior al-Qaida leader Abu Laith al-Libi in Pakistan this week.

The north Phoenix company hosting the site took it down Wednesday, just hours after being contacted by The Arizona Republic.

The Web site, www.ek-is.org, facilitates discussions on weapons, explosives and propaganda and often serves as a question-and-answer center for terrorists, a review of the Web site shows.

Bob Cichon, president of Phoenix-based CrystalTech Web Hosting Inc., said he was unaware of the site's content when his company posted it earlier this week. He said his company, which hosts thousands of Web sites, has no association with extremists or terrorists.

"We are Americans," he said, adding that his staff had no way to research the Web site because it was in Arabic. "The site is down now."

The incident reflects a recent push by al-Qaida and other terrorist groups to spread their message, often using Internet hosts in the United States. Although private companies can refuse to host any Web site, they often do little to monitor their sites' content.

Cichon said the site was sold to CrystalTech by another company. Computer records show the domain name is owned by a person using the address of another Web-hosting company in California. The company, Dynadot in Palo Alto, declined to provide any information about the person.

The site includes video casts of an American tank being bombed, messages from al-Qaida leaders and forums in which terrorist acts are openly discussed, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit group that tracks and translates Islamic Web sites.

"The Web site has ideological and operations functions. . . . There is information about explosives, training, security and technology," said Eli Alshech, director of the institute's Jihad and Terrorism Studies Project. "It is very closely associated with al-Qaida, if not directly related."

Alshech said the Web site's name is Ikhlas, which means "dedication of faithfulness or dedication to the jihad cause." He said it is one of the most popular Web sites for Middle Eastern extremists and was the first to report the death of Libi, an al-Qaida commander in Pakistan.

Libi, 41, was on the military's most-wanted list and was suspected of planning and executing attacks against the United States, including the bombing of an air base in Afghanistan.

Although the Web site was taken down by the Phoenix hosting company, Alshech said, it has other domain names and hosts around the world that allow it to remain online using various Web addresses.

"It is the most stable jihad Web site," he said, pointing out that the site has had nearly 18 million page hits or viewers, 10 million of which were in the past 10 months.

"The public should be aware of it," he added.

Alshech said the disruption caused by the Phoenix shutdown wouldn't last long.

"It moved from Tampa just a week ago to Arizona," he said. "Let's see where it will pop up next. We'll know tomorrow."

FBI Special Agent Manuel Johnson of Phoenix said his agency is aware of Web sites promoting terrorism but said he could not talk specifically about the Phoenix site because of national-security concerns.

"We investigate specific threats of violence while balancing adherence to constitutional protections," he said. "With the Internet today, there are blogs and Web sites advocating all kinds of matters."

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Phoenix did not return calls Thursday.

Among topics recently featured on the Web site:
• Pleas by an al-Qaida operative for Americans to turn against their government.
• Calls for Palestinian militants and Saudi Arabia to attack President Bush with "bombs and traps" during a visit to the Middle East.
• The pros and cons of a terrorist attack in Paris posted by someone calling himself Al-Murabit Al-Muwahhid, or the Monotheistic Jihad Fighter.
• Questions about whether extremists residing in Great Britain can carry out terrorist attacks on British soil.
• An announcement inviting the public to engage in a question-and-answer session with Osama bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, via the Internet.
• Death threats against the family and friends of a conservative Dutch politician and filmmaker who plans to release a film critical of the Quran.

Bill Warner, a Sarasota, Fla., private investigator who has worked with federal agencies on terrorist-related issues, has been tracking terrorist-related Web sites for months.

"The Web sites are a big part of the support network of terrorism financially," he said. "They use the Web sites to request money from the U.S. and the U.K. They ask people to take money to Pakistan."

Warner said he blames Web-hosting companies for failing to monitor content. Instead, he said, they wait until the site is brought to their attention to take action.

"All you've got to do is look," Warner said, pointing to the Phoenix Web site as an example. "You are one click away. First, there is a very benign front page, but all of a sudden, you see tanks being blown up and Osama bin Laden and martyrs. It doesn't matter that you can't read Arabic."

fit a racial profile and I assume he is an American. He claims to live in
Virginia and his DNS registration confirms a Bristow, Virgina address. He
had a Facebook profile though it claims it was being updated by his wife.

As I said, I believe in freedom of the press but there are limits. Calling
for the death of people or threatening to kill people should never be
condoned. In particular, calling for the death of people you disagree with
is over the line. I guess Chesser sees himself as the next Anwar al-Awlaki,
the American Islamist cleric now living in Yemen.

Zachary Adam Chesser, who is not a Muslim, posted the warning on a dubious Islamic site that has been taken down. Malaysian Islamists want apology from "South Park"

Malaysia's conservative Islamic PAS party demanded Friday that the makers of the satirical cartoon sitcom South Park apologize to Muslims around the world for its portrayal of the prophet Muhammad dressed as a bear.

Comedy Central deleted all references to the prophet from Thursday's show 201 after the show's creators were threatened by a radical Muslim group. The previous week's show and series' two-hundredth episode 200 also met with death threats from Muslim groups for depicting Islam's prophet Muhammad dressed in a bear suit.

"Even though they have added the audio bleeps, South Park's producer and broadcaster should apologize to the Muslims, as this is a sensitive issue," said PAS vice-president Mahfuz Omar. "The show itself spells of bad intention, and the depiction of the Prophet is provocative. It creates religious tension."

Over 60% of Malaysia's 28 million population are Muslim Malays, and Islam is the country's official religion.

The New York-based group Revolution Muslim warned threatened that SP creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker could share the fate of Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh, who was murdered by a Muslim extremist in Amsterdam in 2004.

"We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show," the posting said. "This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them."

A photo of Van Gogh's body lying in the street appeared with the original posting, which could not be seen by some Web users since news of the threat broke.

In 200, the April 14 episode of the series, Mohammad was shown wearing a bear mascot costume in order to avoid his image being shown. This was the second of two episodes slated to feature the religious founder in a bear costume.

Comedy Central would not comment on the Revolution Muslim blog post or say if it was taking any precautions because of it. However, Parker and Stone made no secret of their displeasure of the network's censorship.

"In the 14 years we've been doing South Park, we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central, and they made a determination to alter the episode," Parker and Stone wrote in a statement posted on their Web site.

The customary closing speech from one character "didn't mention Muhammad at all, but it got bleeped too," they said, noting that -- ironically -- it was to be "about intimidation and fear."

"We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different, and we'll see what happens to it," they observed.

Comedy Central censored the producers' plans to depict Muhammad in the 2006 "Cartoon Wars" episodes of the series. "It's just sad," Stone said of his employers in an interview with boingboing.net.

Ironically, he pointed out, CC continued airing episode from an earlier season in which Muhammad is depicted and speaks, along with such religious leaders as Jesus of Nazareth and Buddha. "It was before the Danish cartoon controversy, so it somehow is fine," Stone said. "After that, [network self-censorship was] "the new normal."

Although UCLA law professor Eugene Volokh expressed sympathy with Comedy Central's dilemma, he said that by the way it handled the threat, the network may have given other extremists encouragement.

"The consequence of this position is that the thugs win and people have more incentive to be thugs," said Volokh, who teaches free speech and religious freedom law. "There are lots of people out there who would very much like to get certain kind of material removed, whether religious or political. The more they see others winning, the more they will be likely to do the same. Behavior that gets rewarded gets repeated."

Oren Segal, director of the Anti-Defamation League's Center on Extremism, described Revolution Muslim as a relatively small fringe organization.

There are about a dozen members of Revolution Muslim, which was established in 2007. Its Web site has hosted angry and often threatening remarks, including a poem during the High Holy Days last October asking God to kill all the Jews. Its members have also called for a more fundamentalist form of Islam when protesting in front of New York mosques.

Segal doesn't expect Revolution Muslim's warning to lead to the huge protests that followed the controvery of Danish cartoon depictions of Mohammad. However, he said that the group's remarks must be taken seriously.

"You don't know what crazy person is going to respond. This is in context of a relatively silly, funny show, but a threat is a threat," he said.

The FBI declined to comment, although it is aware of the threats. The bureau does not "monitor people or groups, we investigate criminal activity.," Special Agent Richard Kolko, an FBI spokesman in New York, said in a phone interview.

"The FBI will investigate threats that occur over the Internet to determine if there is a potential for the threat to be carried out. However, in most cases these are First Amendment issues, and the FBI vigorously defends people's First Amendment rights."

The New York Police Department was "aware of the threat, and we've looked at it," said Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly. "We don't think that this threat, as is currently assessed, rises to a crime right now."

Police investigators have met with Comedy Central staff and "made arrangements to address security concerns," said a law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the continuing investigation.

"This group definitely crosses the line, or is right on the line, in terms of what is acceptable speech," Segal said. "There is no direct link between this group and violence yet. But by posting this type of information, you never know who is going to take it seriously."

Revolution Muslim member Younus Abdullah Muhammad repeated the group's claim that the post was a prediction, not a threat.

In a telephone interview Wednesday, he said that the post on the group's blog "was intended in a principle that's deeply rooted in the Islamic religion, which is called commanding the good and forbidding the evil." He linked the group's complaints about the cartoon series to bigger concerns about American support for Israel and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee was the blogger who posted the warning about South Park. The ADL has identified him as former George Mason University student Zachary A. Chesser, a Virginia resident who has increased hit activity with Revolution Muslim in recent months.

"May Allah kill Matt Stone and Trey Parker and burn them in Hell for all eternity. They insult our prophets Muhammad, Jesus, and Moses," he wrote April on one of his Twitter accounts:

He later posted a clip from an interview of Stone and Parker with the boingboing.net site, in which the host asked if they worried about bombing for depicting the prophet Muhammad on their show. "Perhaps they are not, perhaps they should be, only time will tell," Al-Amrikee commented.

Revolution Muslim is "an extreme fringe group that has absolutely no credibility within the Muslim community," said Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a civil rights and advocacy group based in Washington.

"In fact, most Muslims suspect they were set up only to make Muslims look bad," Hooper said. "We just have very deep suspicions. They say such outrageous, irresponsible things that it almost seems like they're doing it to smear Islam."

Although Hooper knows about the South Park depiction of Muhammad, CAIR has not issued any formal statement because the organization doesn't want to publicize the show any more, he said: "People are pretty tired of this whole 'Let's insult the prophet Muhammad thing.'"

The latest SP episode, aired Wednesday, displayed some self-censorsihp by Parker and Stone. The character of the Prophet Muhammad, was hidden beneath a "CENSORED" graphic, and an audio bleep was heard when his name was said.

However, Comedy Central has further censored the episode, said a message Thursday morning on SouthParkStudios.com, the Web site of Stone and Parker's company. "After we delivered the show, and prior to broadcast, Comedy Central placed numerous additional audio bleeps throughout the episode," said the message.

The show's creators said that CC isn't letting the episode be streamed on the Web site, where they usually appear after being aired on the network.

A network spokesman confirmed Thursday that Comedy Central had added more bleeps than were in South Park Studios' version, and that it wasn't allowing the episode to appear on the studio's Web site. Instead of its customary midnight repeat of the new South Park episode, Comedy Central showed a previous episode from this season instead.

Sent in by a reader: I recently saw the article you linked about Adam Pearlman and his brand new feature film in which he plays the character Azzam Al-Amrika. As someone who speaks Arabic, I thought it would be interesting for WRH readers to know a little bit about this particular name. First, Azzam in Arabic means either "determined" or "resolved". Second, "Al-Amrika" (it's sometimes spelled "Amerika") translates back to "America". Interesting use of words Mr. Pearlman is using for a name, I'd say. But even without having to translate the whole name, no Arab has the last name of Amrika. The name, translated, almost sounds like a Bush soundbite.

The ludicrous map Dr. Kass serendipitously "found" on a "Jihadi" website

One would expect the Air Force's top civilian adviser to be someone who has spent some time in the US military or who has a very particular educational or skills set that brings something special to what is, after all, a very senior and sensitive position. Not so. Dr. Lani Kass, who is the senior Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force General Norton A. Schwartz, was born, raised, and educated in Israel and then served in that country's military where she reached the rank of major.  She has a PhD in Russian studies but advises Air Force Generals on Cyberwarfare, terrorism, and the Middle East. And Kass appears to have close and continuing ties to her country of birth, frequently spicing her public statements with comments about life in Israel while parroting simplistic views of the nature of the Islamic threat that might have been scripted in Tel Aviv's Foreign Ministry.

Kass' official Air Force bio, which has been expunged from the Pentagon website possibly due to less than flattering commentary regarding her appointment, indicates that since January 2006 she has been "the principal adviser on policy and strategy and formulates, develops, implements, and communicates the policies, programs and goals of the Air Force." Another official bio adds that she "...conducts numerous complex, high priority special assignments involving research and fact-finding to develop analyses, position and issue papers, and generate new initiatives based on a variety of strategic subjects of critical importance to the Joint Staff and/or the Joint Force." There have also been suggestions that Kass has recently become an informal adviser to Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on Middle Eastern policy.

Dr. Lani Kass is married to Norman Kass, a former Pentagon Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, and resides in McLean, Virginia. She has been naturalized as a US citizen and is presumably a dual national who now holds both American and Israeli passports. Her three children were all born in Israel. While it is perhaps not unusual for American citizens to volunteer with the Israel Defense Forces as White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel did in 1991, it would have to be considered unprecedented for a senior Israeli military officer to obtain a high level position at the Pentagon. In fact, it is hard to imagine that anyone carrying out a security background investigation would approve such a transition under any circumstances, suggesting the possibility that Kass's ascent to high office might have been aided or even godfathered by friends in key positions who were able to override or circumvent normal procedures.

Dr. Kass's full first name is Ilana and her maiden name is Dimant. She has a 1971 BA in political-science and Russian area studies, summa cum laude, from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a 1976 joint PhD from the Kaplan School of the Hebrew University and Columbia University in international affairs. She apparently met her husband Norman at Columbia. Both she and her husband are fluent in Russian and Hebrew. After completing her PhD, she served in the Israeli Air Force, achieving the rank of major. For those who are unfamiliar with the military, the rank of major is a senior rank that normally would be awarded to a career officer.

Between 1979 and 1981, Kass worked at the Russian research Center of Booz Allen and Hamilton. Between 1985 and 2005 she held the position of Professor of Military Strategy and Operations of the National War College. In 1992 Dr. Kass obtained a senior position at the Pentagon as Special Assistant to the Director, Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate (J5). Dick Cheney was Secretary of Defense at the time. She returned to the Pentagon under Secretary William Cohen and stayed on during 2000 - 2001 as Senior Policy Adviser and Special Assistant for Strategic Initiatives to the Director, Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate (J5) under Donald Rumsfeld.

In early November 2006, US Air Force officials formed the Air Force Cyberspace Command that had the "authority to launch wars in cyberspace." The command was reported to be "largely the brainchild of Dr. Lani Kass, director of the Air Force Cyberspace Task Force."

Dr. Kass' position and access inevitably raise a number of questions. Her appointment is somewhat unseemly, which even the Air Force appeared to recognize when it removed her bio from the website. Surely there must be qualified Americans who would be both delighted and proud to serve their country in the position she holds. Surely someone in Washington must see the security implications of a former foreign military officer holding a high level post in the Pentagon with full access to classified information. To challenge Dr. Kass's position is not to question her academic credentials and intelligence or even her ability or integrity, but it is not unreasonable to ask why the Pentagon would appoint to a sensitive position someone who was born, raised, and served at a senior level with the armed forces in a foreign country.

And it is also not unreasonable to stop and consider whether Kass might well be an agent working for the Israeli government, which aggressively spies against the United States. She left Israel and began her journey through the US defense department in 1981, when Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard was still active. Israeli intelligence certainly was then and is now capable of what is referred to in intelligence jargon as a seeding operation in which "a mole" is placed in an innocuous position and expected to rise higher, eventually obtaining access to top secret information and even sometimes winding up in a position in which it is possible to direct policy as a so-called agent of influence. Kass started her ascent by working on Russia for beltway bandit Booz Allen Hamilton, quite likely for completely innocent reasons but also possibly because it was a non-threatening way to ease her entry into the world of government contractors.

In seeking to discover how she wound up where she is now it is fair to ask how exactly she obtained the positions that she has held with the Pentagon and who sponsored her through the bureaucracy. How did she manage to obtain a clearance in spite of the obvious red flags in her background? In light of legitimate security concerns, has she been polygraphed, what questions about her relationship with her former country were asked, and what were her answers? Was any deception indicated? Has she been re-polygraphed recently? This is not intended as harassment or as any accusation against Kass but rather to determine if she has been subject to normal and appropriate security measures. CIA officers are, for example, required to undergo polygraph exams every five years and the questions concentrate on possible unreported relationships with foreign governments.

Critics note that while Kass is genuinely an expert on Russia, she has little background to qualify her as an authority on the currently fashionable Cyberwarfare, where she has somehow turned herself into a major spokesman through mastery of the necessary buzzwords and talking points. Nor does she have any genuine expertise on the Middle East or on terrorism to share with Mullen and others, apart from her own Israeli perspective. Her access to the highest levels of the Air Force also raises the questions of just what is she advising and what does she know? Does she support an air war against Iran, for example, and is she actively promoting that option? Does she know how the Obama Administration will react if Tel Aviv tries to stage a unilateral attack on Iran? Such information would be pure gold for the Israeli government.

There are indications that Dr. Kass is a major player in shaping US security policy. She has been described as a "key participant" in the development of the national strategy for combating terrorism, as well as the national military strategic plan for the Global War on Terrorism. In September 2007, The Times of London reported that she was a leading participant in "Project CHECKMATE, a "highly confidential strategic planning group tasked with 'fighting the next war' as tensions rise with Iran" that was "quietly established" by the US Air Force in June 2007 as a "successor to the group that planned the 1991 Gulf War's air campaign."

Also per The Times, CHECKMATE "consists of 20-30 top air force officers and defense and cyberspace experts with ready access to the White House, the CIA and other intelligence agencies." Its director Brigadier-General Lawrence A. Stutzriem and Kass reported directly to General Michael Moseley, at the time chief of staff of the Air Force. The Times cited Defense sources saying, "detailed contingency planning for a possible attack on Iran has been carried out for more than two years." Regarding Iran operations, Kass was quoted as saying "We can defeat Iran, but are Americans willing to pay the price?"

Dr. Kass is not directly linked to any neoconservative groups but appears to be a kindred spirit, possessing a Manichean world view. Her comment cited above about defeating Iran has a dismissive tone to it, as if she is not identifying as an American herself. And she is also reported to have said "Remember what Israelis tell their children when they cry: 'Don't cry - you want to be a paratrooper don't you?'" Some other public utterances are also revealing, suggesting that if General Schwartz and Admiral Mullen are actually listening to her it is no surprise that some US defense and security policies are largely based on simplistic bumper sticker analysis. In a speech at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho on July 9, 2007, she said radical Muslims hate the western world because Europe took their dominant political position away and they want it back. To support her claim she produced a map taken from an obscure Jihadi website showing the entire world depicted as the "United States of Islam," in which everyone will have to follow Sharia Muslim law. Kass likes to use the map as a prop in many of her public appearances. In her speech she explained that Muslims hate western culture and want to dominate the world, adding that because radical Islam has a "culture of death" all those who do not submit to Islam must die, an assertion so absurd that one suspects her political analysis derives from the Free Republic website. She also compared all Americans to sheep and sheepdogs. The former keep their heads down hoping that someone else will be eaten by wolves a.k.a. terrorists while the latter fight back. Kass sees herself as a sheepdog. For her Air Force audience she concluded that the long war against the Islamists will end "when they learn to love their children more than they hate us," a comment originally attributed to Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir.

Kass's powerpoint demonstration "A Warfighting Domain," dated September 26, 2006, is equally scary, and more than a little Strangelovean in its language and appeal. It includes the map of the United States of Islam and defines the "mission" as "to fly and fight in the Air, Space, and Cyberspace." She boasts "as Airmen we are the nation's premier multi-dimensional maneuver force, with the agility, reach, speed, stealth, payload, precision, and persistence to deliver global effects at the speed of sound and the speed of light." Her objective? To "foster a force of 21st century warriors, capable of delivering the full spectrum of kinetic and non-kinetic, lethal and non-lethal effects in the Air, Space, and Cyber domains."

Dr. Kass the Kremlinologist might have been a dab hand at interpreting the Nomenklatura standing on top of Lenin's tomb but her embrace of Cyberwar and her comments relating both to terrorism and the state of the Middle East make one wonder how she has ascended to her lofty perch...and equally why she should remain there. Legitimate security concerns about her possible conflicted loyalty and her intentions should have blunted her trajectory long ago. But on the other hand, the global war on terror is so much of a joke that it perhaps needs someone like Dr. Kass to symbolize its absurdity and to launch the US Air Force on a vital new mission replete with lethal warrior-airmen delivering "global effects" at the speed of light. At an estimated cost of $100 billion, one might add. Captain Kirk? Are you ready to beam me up? Things are getting kind of strange down here.

Seattle Cartoonist Launches "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day"

After Comedy Central cut a portion of a South Park episode following a death threat from a radical Muslim group, Seattle cartoonist Molly Norris wanted to counter the fear. She has declared May 20th "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day."

Norris told KIRO Radio's Dave Ross that cartoonists are meant to challenge the lines of political correctness. "That's a cartoonist's job, to be non-PC."

Producers of South Park said Thursday that Comedy Central removed a speech about intimidation and fear from their show after a radical Muslim group warned that they could be killed for insulting the Prophet Muhammad.

The group said it wasn't threatening South Park producers Trey Parker and Matt Stone, but it included a gruesome picture of Theo Van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker killed by a Muslim extremist in 2004, and said the producers could meet the same fate. The website posted the addresses of Comedy Central's New York office and the California production studio where South Park is made.

"As a cartoonist I just felt so much passion about what had happened I wanted to kind of counter Comedy Central's message they sent about feeling afraid," Norris said.

Norris has asked other artists to submit drawings of any religious figure to be posted as part of Citizens Against Citizens Against Humor (CACAH) on May 20th.

On her website Norris explains this is not meant to disrespect any religion, but rather meant to protect people's right to express themselves.

David Headley: Terrorist or CIA agent? May be both?

U.S. citizen David Headley, aka Daood Gilani, who was arrested in connection with last year’s Mumbai terrorist attacks, may have been a double agent for the CIA at the time of the incident, according to U.S. journalists.

More than 160 people were killed in the financial hub of Mumbai in three days of attacks by a group of 10 gunmen, beginning on November 26, 2008.

Headley had allegedly helped plan the attack by conducting reconnaissance missions in Mumbai.

More than two months after Pakistani-American jihadist David Headley was held in Chicago, India’s intelligence services are divided on whether they were told the whole truth about the so called Lashkar-e-Taiba clandestine agent’s operations orchestrated by CIA.

Many in the intelligence services even suspect that owing to the CIA involvement the United States is less than committed to letting the whole truth be known.

Public debate has focused on claims that Headley—who served as a Drug Enforcement Administration informant after being arrested with two kg of heroin in 1988—may have been planted by U.S. covert services inside Lashkar after his release in 2002.

“If this David Headley was working for the CIA all along, which is a very plausible conclusion,” says writer and journalist Webster Tarpley, “It means that the CIA implicated and was running and masterminding the Mumbai terror attack of 2008.”

David Headley of Chicago – aka Daood Gilani – was formally charged with involvement in planning last year’s terrorist attacks on 26/11/08 in Mumbai, India, says the US Justice Department.

Headley, who changed his name from Daood Gilani in 2006 and resides primarily in Chicago, was arrested on Oct. 3, 2009, by the Chicago FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) at O’Hare International Airport before boarding a flight to Philadelphia, intending to travel on to Pakistan.

Also, Tahawwur Hussain Rana – aka Tahawar Rana - a native of Pakistan and citizen of Canada who also resides in Chicago, was arrested on Oct. 18, 2009, at his home by federal agents. Rana is the owner of several businesses, including First World Immigration Services, which has offices in Chicago, New York and Toronto. He was charged with conspiracy to provide support to a foreign terrorism conspiracy that involved Headley and other individuals in Pakistan.

On Dec. 7, United States Attorney’s office unsealed additional charges, reading in parts:
“New federal charges filed today allege that a Chicago man, who was arrested in October for planning terrorist attacks against a Danish newspaper and two of its employees, also conducted extensive surveillance of targets in Mumbai for more than two years preceding the November 2008 terrorist attack on India’s largest city that killed approximately 170 people, including six Americans, and injured hundreds more. The defendant, David Coleman Headley, a U.S. citizen, earlier this decade allegedly attended terrorism training camps in Pakistan maintained by Lashkar e Tayyiba (Lashkar), and conspired with its members and others in planning and executing the attacks in both Denmark and India…..”

According to the charges, “He made five extended trips to Mumbai — in September 2006, February and September 2007, and April and July 2008 — each time taking pictures and making videotapes of various targets, including those attacked in November 2008…..”

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III, commented on the investigation saying: “This case illustrates the importance of continued global cooperation to combat terrorism around the world. The FBI continues to strengthen relationships and to foster collaboration with our international partners to best ensure our collective ability to identify and disrupt international terror networks.”

It is also reported that American-born terror suspect David Headley had not only actively played a role in conducting reconnaissance of targets in Mumbai but was also present in a control unit in Pakistan along with the masterminds of the attacks to carry out 10 Lqashkar e taiba terrorists to carry out strikes in the megapolis.

Sources privy to the investigations of the terror suspect’s trail in India said 48-year-old Headley was very much present in the room
-4 from where the 10 LeT terrorists were being guided to various locations during the 26/11 attacks.

The investigators re-visited the intercepts and found that there were specific instructions being given to terrorists about entry and exit including that they had taken more time before reaching their final targets which included Taj Mahal hotel, Oberoi and Trident towers and Nariman House.

India has asked for a voice sample of Headley from the FBI to match with a voice which was unidentified so far for the security agencies. This voice was giving information on exact surroundings of the targets attacked by Lashker-e-Taiba militants.  However, there was no firm response from the FBI on provididng the sameto Indian investigators, the sources said.   (Ed. note:  I wonder if this is because Headley is being said to be cooperating with the FBI?)

Other places that Headley was able to get into using his connections as an American?

“… (Headley) had used the service of many prominent individuals in the city to conduct a proper recce of the places which also included Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC). Israeli Embassy in Cuffe Parade and Israeli airlines offices located in the World trade centre.”

This is in addition to the actual Mumbai targets:  Nariman House, the  Taj Mahal hotel,  Leopold Cafe, Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus and the Oberoi-Trident hotels.

Definitions of terrorism

Webster’s dictionary defines terrorism as the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion. [1].

However, the United States code defined terrorism as “(An) act of terrorism means an activity that (A) involves a violent act or an act dangerous to human life that is a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any State, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or of any state, and (B) appears to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population: (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by assassination or kidnapping.” [2].

This is an official congressional definition of terrorism that applies only to other nations. However, the psychological end results of terror, is always fear that eventually leads to resignation and submission. Fear and terrorism are interconnected, therefore, we should discuss their connection in order to understand their impact on our behavior, and their use to control people. Fear has been the glue that has kept people attached to their dictators and to their gods. It is worth our time to take a brief look at this phenomenon that rules our existence.

 
Fear is the key to obedience

Man’s self-awareness is the progenitor of his alienation, fear, egocentrism, and anxiety; therefore, the unexamined life is worth living for the human herds, because it gives them a sense of false security and pseudo-belonging. Fear is the ulcer of the masses that cripples their psyche and vanquishes their freedom. [3].

Biblically speaking, fear was always used by the clergies to ensure that people would obey the rules that were allegedly bestowed by God upon humanity to avoid burning in hell. These rules were actually written by men to control the masses and to perpetuate the power of the religious leaders. As a result, telling the truth and challenging the establishment will only lead to ridicule, crucifixion, and death.

Unfortunately, fear is the driving force and the main psychological component of terror. Fear incapacitates people and renders them impotent. Fear is conducive to regressive behaviors by responsible adults, where people become dependent on an illusory parent figure like the government or a corporation per example, in order to protect them from the evildoers. So they become willing to relinquish their most intimate and sacred rights in order to feel safe. [3].

 
How governments perpetuate fear through the use of the media

Americans have been living in fear since 9-11. However, the reality behind our fears has been set out by our own corporate media who has been the main culprit in spreading it like a disease. Our media has terrorized our hearts and minds for years through their subliminal violent programming, and sensational coverage of their own version of the distorted truth.

Sensationalism and misinformation are the essence of the modern media! Angry talk shows are the dish of the day, where the host abuses, yells, belittles, terrorizes his guests to ensure that their opinions are not heard, and only the host’s scripted ideas emerge as the winners, so his or her master’s agenda is served.

The media has been spreading terror for years in the hearts of the American public, in order to force them to watch their trivial programming. Just as in Orwell’s Oceania ,  the airwaves are bombarded with 24 hours news channels that would resort to any twisted strategy to keep their distorted coverage going. “If it bleeds it leads. The airwaves are also inundated with shows and stories that promote fear, exaggeration of situations, twisting of the truth, psychological propaganda, bloody and gory stories, and buzz words (i.e. flesh eating bacteria, shark attacks on our shores, weapons of mass destruction, SARS, West Nile virus, carjacking, hijacking, war of the sexes, violence, epidemics, pandemics, child abductions, gay marriages, bird flu, H1N1, and so forth and so on). All designed to frighten, brainwash, manipulate, create conflict, confuse, liberalize, and mesmerize their audiences into watching their programs where anything is acceptable. “Instill fear in them and they shall watch and follow”. This is a policy of terror not of democracy. [3].

 
The terror card

Just as in the case of the Nazi Germany and the Israeli State, terror has been the ace in the hole for the US government. They have even adopted Israel’s model of safety. They totally ignore that the US is not under occupation as the Palestinian people are in Palestine , and that the alleged terrorism in the Holy Land is simply a reaction against unholy brutal occupation.

The US Homeland Security (the Orwellian ministry of lies) would like to use the Israeli anti-terror system, which is usually financed by American tax payers (US government gives Israel $7 to $8 billion dollars a year in money for being our friend besides the free military equipments, nuclear technology, and contracts).

As our proxy in the Near-East, an Israeli company has developed a system that matches high technology up with and behavioral psychology. It’s called WeCU, short for “We See You” (the same way Big Brother sees you). It projects images on a wall and monitors reactions of people. “If you strolled through an airport and saw a picture of your mother, you couldn’t help but respond.”

Or if you were a terrorist, the logic goes, you’d respond to a terror group logo or other familiar imagery. The reaction to these images could be a darting of the eyes, an increased heartbeat, a nervous twitch or faster breathing, said company CEO Ehud Givon. If the system observes suspicious behavior, a person is detained and interrogated. “One by one, you can screen out from the flow of people those with specific malicious intent,” Givon said. U.S. officials are considering the Israeli model for airport security. Israel practices ethnic profiling at Ben-Gurion Airport . Jewish Israelis typically pass through smoothly, while others like their Palestinian cousins may be taken aside for closer interrogation or even strip searches." In other words, if you are an Arab or a Palestinian, you will be strip searched and be subjected to body cavity searches. [4].

Of course the intimidation process that triggers anxiety, fear, and false positives doesn’t count, because the system is not designed to work but to harass and intimidate the identified victims just as the Stasi did in East Germany, or the Soviets in the Soviet Union. The Israelis’ self-hatred for being Jews combined with their desperation to be identified as Europeans (especially German) has continuously obfuscated their judgment and forced them to project their self-hatred against their Arab cousins and re-enact their persecution on their Palestinian brothers whom they occupy and slaughter on a daily basis, even though the Christian Europeans have persecuted, burned and murdered millions of Jews throughout history.


Purpose of terrorism

According to Herman and O’Sullivan, terrorism has served other purposes in the West beyond mobilizing of populations in support of counterinsurgency operations in the provinces. It created a generalized fearfulness and irrationality that give leaders greater freedom of action. Per example, the Reagan administration needed a terrorism threat tied to a foreign enemy to justify its enormous arms buildup of the early 1980s and to distract attention from its regressive economic and social and social policies. [5].  Thorstein Veblen (American economist and social critic) pointed out in 1904 that militarization to combat a foreign enemy is the natural and best hope of the American elite as “a corrective for ‘social unrest’ and similar disorders of civilized life” and as the route to “popular submission and squalor.” [6]. Therefore, opponents of militarization and harsh measures against dissident minorities are paralyzed by terrorism propaganda, and it is very difficult to do something that demagogues can interpret as “helping terrorists.”

Ironically, the alleged underwear/Christmas Nigerian bomber who was listed in our intelligence data base as a terrorist and who had no coat during his trip to the United States (despite freezing temperatures) or luggage, had a one way ticket, and was aided by a professional mystery man who helped him get on the plane, was easily granted a visa by the US embassy to the United States.

Are our embassy employees so inept that they keep making the same errors over and over again?

Or incompetence is always a better strategy than complicity and treason?

This Christmas day incident created a major distraction during the holidays, revived the existence of the mythical Al Qaeda, and was used as a state propaganda tool to drum up fear in the public.

Sure enough few days later, a fabricated audio tape of the late Osama Bin Laden conveniently surfaced to corroborate the link of the Nigerian bomber to Al Qaeda.

This event has set the stage for the next level of terror propaganda that will pave the way for additional loss of liberty and multi-million dollar contracts for the Terrorism Industrial Complex that will be providing the airports of the world with body scanning machines to protect the herds from terrorism. Let’s remember that using intermittent fear mongering through contrived incidents is a great marketing strategy to sell expensive security gadgets and to erode freedom. No wonder that most Americans favor ethnic profiling and body scanning in airports, according to a recent poll conducted by a government mouth piece/newspaper “USA Today.” [7]. As I mentioned in a previous article that people will always give up their liberty for their safety, and that Mr. Obama has quickly learned that the permanent war on terror card is the inherent ingredient to maintain his power, and to guarantee himself a second term.

Consequently, the TIC public-private partnership will continue to promote more technology for safety. Per example, Iris scanning technology in airports provided by L1-ID solutions a company that George Tenet former head of the CIA benefited greatly as a major shareholder and a previous director of Viisage that was acquired by L-1 ID solutions will eventually be implemented. [8]. Or next time you decide to fly, Homeland security and their subdivision the TSA (the thought and behavior police) might slap on you a shocking bracelet that would serve as your boarding pass, and would track your lost luggage, set off an alarm in area that you are not allowed to be in, awaken you with an electric jolt if you fall asleep and helps you not to miss your flight. Subsequently, a stewardess can shock you and/or immobilize you if you get out of line. Of course this bracelet is designed to ensure your safety and the safety of your luggage from being lost. A top government official expressed interest in these safety bracelets in 2006. However, as of today it remains unclear if this is the trend of future air travel. [9,10].

 
Racism as a tool to promote terrorism and suspend natural rights

Give up your freedom or die! That is the logo that most Americans believe in at this point of time as told by their government. What is a loss of a few sacred rights when we can keep you safe and alive, our government asks? In addition, our government implies that they are not discriminating against you, but they are only targeting a specific ethnic and/or racial group who doesn't look like you and who wants to kill you. It’s our holy (Jihad) war against the evil dark skinned man versus the good and pure white Christian man (even though purity is a myth and humanity is a pool of mutt who has shagged each other for thousands of centuries). The government will also tell us that they will use the terrorists’ violent tactics to eradicate as taught by our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the dogma of our alleged born again U.S. Christian government.

Historically, every dominant race and culture has appointed itself as the supreme one and the rest had to follow. In contrast to the bible, the meek shall not inherit the earth, but shall perish like an insignificant cockroach. Racism like hate and destructiveness is part of the human character. It is definitely a great political tool to create division among the masses in order to dominate them; in addition, down-grading people justifies their eradication. The establishment has the ability to define a race and to alter that same definition based on the political climate of the day. The illusion of belonging to a superior group helps compensates for the person who feels like a flee, and in lieu the group membership leads him to feel like a giant by appealing to his or her narcissistic biases. Group narcissism is a key factor in racism. It is fueled and perpetuated by politicians. Racism and fear go hand in hand. Fear is a natural response for self-preservation. By connecting fear to racism and artificially inducing it in people, weakens the masses and divides them, fabricates consent, and makes racism a mechanism of pseudo self-preservation.  [3].

 
A brief view of The Terrorism Industrial Complex (TIC)?

According to Herman and O’Sullivan, the terrorism industrial complex consists of security agencies closely connected to the government. Many of their employees are previous government employees from the intelligence community and the military.

The private sector terrorism experts in the west who reaches the mass media are generally affiliated with the terrorism industry institutes and think tanks. A large fraction of these experts also has revolving-door relationships with governments and government intelligence agencies, and many are connected with private security firms.

They therefore reflect official views and a state agenda, and they rarely depart from the assumptions of the western model of terrorism. Some of the experts have a material interest in “threat inflation.” [5]. The security industry serves business and government; it therefore approaches “terrorism” from the standpoint of its employers and principals. Some segments, especially those providing security services and recruiting and training mercenaries, are often arms of the government that carry out covert actions for which the government does not want to admit responsibility.

Leaders of the security business organize and participate regularly in conferences, hearings, and seminars on terrorism, and are experts consulted by the media to explain and show how to cope with the terrorist threat. Because of their structural position and role, members of the security industry look at terrorism strictly within the frame of the Western model. And they have a material interest in inflating the threat of terrorism in order to elevate, their own importance as supplier of counterterrorism services. Since the West engages in and supports a primary terrorism under the guise of responding to the violence of others, the security industry naturally gravitates to the support of and participation in real terrorism, as exemplified by advising the Guatemalan and Honduran military on apprehending and interrogating so-called terrorists and aiding the Nicaraguan contras. In the West this is all known as counterterrorism. [5].

The industry naturally excludes the terrorism of the West and its clients from the terrorism agenda, and in fact, makes primary terrorist like the governments of South Africa and El Salvador victims of terrorism engaging in counterterrorism. The press follows closely in the terrorism industry’s wake. Thus Abu Nidal, loosely affiliated with Libya and Syria , merits great attention as a terrorist; the leaders of RENAMO, whose killings of unarmed civilians exceed those of Abu Nidal by a factor of many hundred but who are surrogates of a Western client and ally, South Africa , are rarely placed on official and expert lists of terrorists and are given slight attention and inspire little indignation in the mass media. Even after the State Department itself issues a report documenting RENAMO killings on a staggering scale, mass media attention was fleeting and their indignation was restrained (in contrast with their reaction to the killing fields of distant Cambodia ). Even traditional terrorists like Orlando Boschand Luis Posada Carriles, who blow up civilian airliners and engage in multiple assassinations, do not attract substantial media attention. As long as they only attack the citizens, facilities, and friends of enemy states, the terrorism industry and media display little interest in their activities. This pattern is pervasive, and the choices have nothing to do with the substance of terrorism –in fact, they commonly involve emphasis on a lesser terrorism and simultaneous aversion of the eyes from wholesale terror. The choices are simply tailored to the political and propaganda needs of the West. If it is true that a substantial part for anti-Western terrorism is a response to western terrorism, then the solution to the terrorism problem for the West is clear: Stop doing it! The U.S. media rely almost exclusively on the government and private sector of the terrorism industry for their identification of terrorists, model of terrorism, facts, and proposed solutions. [5].

 
Manufacturing terrorism

There are several forms of manufactured terrorism. One is the inflation of the menace on the basis of modest and not very threatening but conceivable real actions (as with the weather underground and the West German Kurds). Another is the false transfer of the responsibility for a terrorist act to a convenient villain, as in the case of Agca's shooting of the pope. The spate of terrorist bombings in western Europe during the early and mid-1980s had the earmarks of being, at least in part, manufactured terrorism. The bombings were all too convenient for Western propaganda needs; many of them, especially those directed against NATO installations , were symbolic and ineffectual. [5]. The examples of manufactured terrorism are innumerable, and will continue to go on and on to advance Western governments political agendas. Terrorism is also manufactured in the private sector to incriminate union leaders, activists, and political enemies, sometimes in collusion with agents of the state. In addition, the West has produced an industry of institutes and experts who formulate and channel analysis and information in accordance with Western demands. These institutes as part of Terrorism Industrial Complex are designed to give authoritative status to experts who will confirm and reinforce state propaganda, to occupy the informational space that might otherwise be used by dissident voices, and thus to ensure closure of fact and opinion. The government and corporate wealthy nourish the institutes and think tanks that service and sponsor suitable intellectuals and journalists who will convey the proper messages. The function of experts is merely to clarify and elaborate on pre-established truths, which reflects an effective propaganda system. [5].

 
Terrorism as a tool for power and for grand theft of public money

As we have seen, there are several factors that influence terrorism and they're all connected and manipulated to serve political purposes, in order for the elite to increase their wealth, power, and global domination.  The key ingredient to take away people's money, long standing systemic privileges, and their natural rights such as freedom is for governments to snatch it in increments through what social psychologists call the inoculation effect. Per example, you don't take away people’s social security privileges overnight, instead you will surreptitiously do it in small doses by regularly and gradually reducing these benefits to nothing, while the herds become totally desensitized to the idea of losing it. Like religious leaders, our public-private partnership (PPP) democratic governments have consistently and regularly robbed the proles of their money. Through taxation and inflation (indirect tax) induced and justified by deliberate and profligate spending to finance their alleged political agendas, they have transferred the wealth of nations to themselves and to their other half in the global private industry.   Meanwhile, contrived terror will continue to be a great tool of control and wealth for the elites who have rendered their mercenaries and bandits into famous terrorists and global stars.
