Was News 8 or any other MSM in Austin even covering the event? News 8has nothing on their web site. There’s nothing yet in a Google News search either. One would think that the media would report the unlawful arrest of one of their own, even if they spin it a bit.

Just went through the Travis County Jail Inmate Information System. According to their automated system, Aaron is being held in Central Booking and has been charged with:
Disrupting meeting or procession
No bond
I believe this is a Class C Misdemeanor. Austin locals need to look at the Texas code and find out if this charge could possibly even apply in this circumstance.
There is no bond since Aaron has not yet seen a magistrate. Texas law requires that someone in custody be taken straight to a magistrate. Since he was taken to jail instead, Aaron was effectively kidnapped at gun point. More than likely when Aaron does see a magistrate, a bond determination will have already been made. This happens when a jailer and magistrate hold an ex parte hearing. An ex parte hearing is a violation of due process rights. This is a specialty of Randy Kelton and Deborah Stevens of Rule of Law Radio in Austin. They can help Aaron cream them on this alone. Someone needs to make sure that Aaron does his best to document everything that they do and don’t do while he is in APD’s custody.
I have no doubt that Aaron did not violate the law. I hope that Rob Jacobson and others were able to get this on video. Somebody needs to put a stop to this s---.

I don’t know about Texas law per se, but on this sort of misdemeanor in many States I believe the cops could (and should!) release him on a “Personal Recognizance” (PR) bond without even a magistrate.

I’d say you don’t know much about law in general. Magistrates make bond determinations. Not cops.
