IMF and World Bank info request

I'm going to be doing a project for school on who/why third world countries are suppressed. I'm planning to focus on the debt cycle's created by IMF loans. I was simply wondering if people had some solid info on the imf and world bank. In particular I came here to try and get info on the more shadowy components, like who the major players are such.

Sidenote: this site could really use a search function, I feel like this info HAS to be on this site somewhere but its rather inconvenient to look through all the pages of topics.
