2 students shot at middle school

written by: Jeffrey Wolf     6 mins ago

LITTLETON - Two students were shot at a middle school on Tuesday afternoon, including a 14-year-old and investigators have a suspect in custody

Jacki Kelley, spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, says one victim was found inside the school and the other was found outside the school.

She says it happened around 3 p.m. which is about when children would be getting out of school. Both of the victims were teenagers.

West Metro Fire says a 14-year-old was shot in the arm or the shoulder at Deer Creek Middle School on West Columbine Drive near South Garrison Street.

Both victims were transported to the hospital, according to Kelley. West Metro Fire says at least one of them was taken to Littleton Adventist Hospital.

Kelley says deputies have an adult man in custody as the suspect. She says he was taken into custody without much resistance, if any at all.

Kelley says Deer Creek was put into lockdown because of the shooting.

All of the students are being taken to nearby Stony Creek Elementary School at West Columbine Drive and South Everett Street. Parents can go to Stony Creek to pick up their children.

Parents should not go to Deer Creek to try and get their children.

Looks like a adult lost it and started shooting.

I wonder what the shooting was over.

UPDATE!!

Parents should not go to Deer Creek to try and get their children.

Reese Ferrin, a Deer Creek student, says he was standing next to Dr. David Benke, a seventh grade math teacher, when the shootings began.

"I was by the crosswalk and the gunman came around the corner and Dr. Benke ran and tackled him," Reese said.

Reese says Benke tackled the gunman first and other teachers piled on top of him.

One student says she spoke with the shooter and he asked some students if they went to school at Deer Creek before he opened fire.

Sheri Hasse says her son was on the bus and he saw at least one of the shootings happen outside the school. Her son was kept on the bus as deputies investigated the scene.

Levi Shafter, a seventh grader, was also on the bus.

"I heard a gunshot and everybody was running away, I was a little confused, and then I saw the shooter, I saw him put out a second shot and that's when the bus driver told us all to get down so we got down," Levi said. "I was really scared."

"Some of the teachers tackled him and then the police arrived and arrested him," Levi said.

Tamara Veremeer has a daughter who is an eighth grader at Deer Creek. She says she was parked close to the front of the school and heard a gunshot.

"At that time, of course, I'm not thinking it's a gunshot. I see my daughter and her friends coming towards me and I hear a second gunshot and all - probably nine or 10 of them, just piled in my car and then I saw kids starting to run," she said.

"I could see adults or someone leaning over someone," Veremeer said. "And then I saw a woman come out and pick up a rifle and so that's when I knew this was a shooting."

Deer Creek is home to seventh and eighth graders.

So some random 32 year old guy just shows up at a random school and starts busting caps?

Too strange.

One of the reason I took my son out of THEIR hands! They can use ANY reason to hold them. It was a couple years ago when Parent's in MA received a letter stating they CAN'T get their kids if something happens and to watch TV for instructions on WHERE and WHEN to get them as they MAY be MOVED!

I agree! Wuz-up with these lone gunman slaughtering innocent children(!)?  I can't make heads or tail of this new trend. Home schooling is the safest alternative and should not be prohibited by this government.  Cry

Gunman has been identified as Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood, 32. His dad said his son had been 'hearing voices.' He may have been a student at the school at one time--

http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=133343&provider=top
9NEWS has obtained a 1992 yearbook picture of a boy named "Bruco Eastwood" from Deer Creek.

I would like to know what the suspect wrote in his 'book,' though of course they will never release it in full--
''His father says Bruco Eastwood was writing a book about his life. War Eagle Eastwood has agreed to give Bruco Eastwood's writings to detectives.''

Interestingly, Eastwood had been a guinea pig for NASA back in 2005--
http://m.rockymountainnews.com/news/2005/May/06/10-days-of-bed-rest-and-tv---in-the-name-of/
Horse trainer Bruco "Bo" Eastwood always wanted to be an astronaut, so he jumped at the chance to be part of a NASA-funded medical study.

Which reminds me of what another whack school shooter once said--

"We are all in reality in hospital beds being monitored and programmed by these mad scientists, and this world is not real for them. The scientists watch over us to see what we're doing."

Just like the Columbine massacre happened at the same time the Colorado legislature was debating concealed-carry laws, this latest shooting happened at the same time another concealed carry measure was being debated in the state college system--

Though of course it's all just coincidence.

wtf? how are we allowing MK Ultra to still be classified and still allowing trauma based mind control and other false flag tools to be developed with our tax money.

These Coincidence theories are astounding!

Those people in Colorado ought to look at the gun laws in Alabama.   The University of Alabama Huntsville had a zero tolerance policy.  Had those faculty members been afforded their second amendment rights they might not be six feet under today.

''The older man said that his son used to talk to himself a lot, but in the past month, he had begun yelling.''
(Yelling at yourself?  That's always a bad sign.)

''Sheriff's department spokeswoman Jacki Kelley.... said a school security officer was not at Deer Creek at the time. The officer also has duties at another school, but it hasn't been determined where he was when the shootings happened, Kelley said.''

(Darn! That school cop almost justified his salary.)

Where that's going is correct BUT, it was the MSM that coined this particular shooting 'Columbine II'.

Why?

Was a governor's meeting in Colorado on the banning of firearms on campuses JUST a coincidence that day?

I used to think the same thing until my Prof brought up a very good point. He had 10 of us who wanted CC on campus (yeah right! I'm in cali.) stand at the front of the room close our eyes and went through the hearing the gun shots and us going into the hall and then... Shoot the killer! Only two of us pointed at the person he'd picked out for the killer and the rest shot each other.

When we pointed out that while that might have been the case at VT, the case in AL was a single room, he pointed out that there were others in the building and the same threat was still there.

His solution was to have all CC for campus permit applicants to pass courses in CQC, threat recognition, and tactical awareness.

I have to admit that it's a good idea.

Littleton, Colorado, Shooting Suspect: “I’m Fighting for Freedom”
http://www.infowars.com/littleton-colorado-shooting-suspect-im-fighting-for-freedom/

CNN
February 24, 2010

http://cnn.com/video/?/video/us/2010/02/24/bts.colorado.shooting.kdvr

(CNN) -- The man suspected of shooting two students at a Littleton, Colorado, middle school was identified as 32-year-old Bruco Strongeagle Eastwood, authorities said Wednesday.

Eastwood was arrested after the incident Tuesday at Deer Creek Middle School and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. He is facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder, the sheriff's office said.

He is accused of shooting two students as classes were letting out at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

David Benke, a 6-foot-5 former college basketball player who is a math teacher and track coach, tackled the suspected gunman as he was preparing to fire again, CNN affiliate KMGH reported.

"[The shooter] was trying to rack another round," Benke told the station. "I knew he couldn't get another round in before I got to him, so I grabbed him."

A parent who saw the incident told KMGH that the gunman kept mumbling, "I'm fighting for freedom. I'm fighting for freedom," as he was being subdued.

The students, a boy and a girl, were taken to Littleton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a sheriff's office spokeswoman said.

Tuesday's shooting occurred in the same area as one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history, the 1999 killing of 12 students and a teacher at Columbine High School. The two gunmen in that incident, both Columbine students, then turned their guns on themselves.

The problem I have with your professor is, he/she like so many other people are brainwashed into thinking your second amendment is a privilege--it is an inalienable right

To have the illusions that campus cops or outside cops are going to rescue you, is just that, an illusion.

I ran this by him today. The following is his reply.

"Nothing could be further from the truth. I know it's a right which is why I have an arsenal at my house. My point was that without the proper training, most people would just shoot at whomever they saw as a threat. Since they were alerted by gunshots, they would see anyone holding a gun as a threat. Thus my wanting the training as a prerequisite for CC on campus.

Of course if everyone was (potentially) armed, FAR fewer people would try something like VT or AL, but that just takes care of regular jackasses and losers.  Those who are batshit crazy, or have been driven batshit crazy, are gonna do what they are gonna do."

That experiment was rigged from the get go as you wouldn't have your eyes shut during a real shooting situation.

I'm sorry, I didn't explain that part well. The reason their eyes were closed was to simulate them being in a class room, going to the door with their weapon, and when they look into the hall seeing 9 other people with guns and making the decision of which one they should shoot.

Again, there should be no prerequisites to have a gun on a college campus for protection--the reason I am not budging on this is there is too much wiggle-room for control, thinking that way.   Since this is an establishment for higher learning, a class should be offered for such training to provide an extra incentive for firearms training.

Fair enough. Having said that, I can't budge on it either because what he says makes perfect sense. Also I'm 99% sure he'd agree with the class being a part of the curriculum, in fact, if my suspicions about him are correct, he'd be teaching it.

Some additional details--

http://www.denverpost.com/newsheadlines/ci_14474273?source=bb

''....the armed school resource officer from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office who normally covers Deer Creek Middle School was called to Falcon Bluffs Middle School to cover for a sick colleague just hours before two students were shot...''

[Comment--  Note the reason given is nonsensical.  You don't go to another school because it is uncovered if that means leaving the origonal school uncovered.]

''The Sheriff's Office thinks Eastwood entered the school shortly before the shooting, signed in at the front office and got a visitor's badge. He then walked out of the school to get his rifle...
Sheriff's investigators are looking into what he said to staff to get access to the school.
Jefferson County schools Superintendent Cindy Stevenson said visitors are required to sign in at the front office and give a reason for coming into the school.
Kelley said investigators are trying to determine what, if anything, Eastwood did while in the school. He eventually left the building quietly, without being told to do so, she said.
"We have no evidence he wandered around the school," Stevenson said. "We currently have no evidence that protocol was violated." ''

[Comment-- So, a complete stranger wearing a black coat and camo pants is given a visitor's pass, and no one knows how long he was in there, or what he was doing while inside the school, or why he was admitted.  Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.  The police have stated they are interviewing everyone who came into contact with him or saw him.  Since they know what happened outside the school, it sounds like they want to know what went on inside, which implies WarEagle-dude was in there for a significant amount of time, and not the 'minute or two just inside the front door' scenario they were pushing initially.]

-------------

ps
From the 'comments' section of the link, for a perspective on how your tax dollars are being spent--

''If what the students say is true - that the resource police officer mostly stays inside his office while surfing the Internet all day long ... then this all worked out for the best.''
