No kidding!

Read about it here:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20100211/ts_ynews/ynews_ts1129

I've always liked Marvel Comics ever since they came up with the Canadian TV series "Mutant X".  (The series premiered in October of 2001 when I, living well within NYC media range, very desperately needed an escape from reality.)

I'm glad they finally came clean!

PEOA:

OK, so what's your solution?

A public apology CAN partly undo a smear.

What do you suggest?

This is encouraging ... but what is so telling about this story
is the fact that COMIC BOOK story lines are now treated
and covered by mainstream news the same as 'real life'
reporting.  Cheesy

We better all go back and reread Ford's COMIC BOOK symbolism thread ....

Jackson Holly:

Comic books, like the Saturday Night Live TV show, whether worthy or not, are major opinion shapers in our society.

I never heard of that thread you mentioned, but everybody's heard of Captain America.

I'm in the entertainment industry, and was really pissed off at this, but then during a few calls of getting ready to go to NYC for Toy Fair at the beginning of the week, the writer (Brubaker) and penciler (would have to look up his name), had told a few people they were pissed, that these were added by the letterer, and they were being blamed for this nonsense. Quesada (I call him "Quesadilla") did his usual "Let no one take the blame." He won't even take Blame with Avi for the "Brokeback Hulk" bullsh!t of the first film. And they both should have been thrown out on the street for what they did to Fantastic Four II, from Issues 48-50, considered some of the greatest comic issues ever written, but OK, enough fanboy cr@p.

Then, we talked about the new Avengers script for the Movie, am I was really pleased to find out, in the movie, the Avengers are under the auspices of The UNITED NATIONS!

Maybe they can have Al Gore kill Mr. Freeze, and have the Human Torch take the blame for Global Warming (But then, Mr. Freeze is a DC License, and the rest are Marvel, so cross-over legal nightmare, except Gore, who's copyright probably the Rothschild Foundation.)

DavidSReeves:

I'm really not into comic books to the extent that I can actually understand what you're saying, so your entire post is total gobbledygook to me.

OK, to translate, and I'm not into comic books either, I just have to deal with those properties (licenses/shows) for me work.

1) The writer and artist didn't do that or write that, it was put on later. They found out, were pissed, media didn't really cover this fact, but blamed them.

2) Quesada always passes the buck on any controversy or screw-up.

3) Marvel ruined a few of the best comics ever written, by re-writing them as total crap for the films, and they bombed (And Quesada passed the buck on this too). Comics from the 1960's, not current ones.

4) New Avengers Movie (Iron Man, Captain America, etc.), now has them as fighting for the UN, not the USA.(Seriously).

5) Al Gore should blame Comic Book characters for Global Warming. The Rothchilds will fund the film.

DavidSReeves:

I think I got your translation.

And I agree with your analysis.

Cheers, mate!
