On my cable system, the program description for tonight's episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit reads:
"A boy is raped by a civil rights leader."
The fuller description reads:
"Episode: Hardwired. After a young boy is raped, detectives find out their suspect is the leader of a civil rights group that supports adult-child relationships."
I mean, since when is NAMBLA a civil rights group?
They seem to be trying either to stigmatize the genuine civil rights cause, or to raise the status of organized pedophilia.

They seem to be trying either to stigmatize the genuine civil rights cause, or to raise the status of organized pedophilia.
Why not watch the episode to see how they handle it before you get outraged? The people who write those episode descriptions aren't too bright sometimes.  |

Very valid point, but I only saw the description with about ten minutes to go in the episode, and spent essentially all of that time copying the description from the TV screen (I'm a slow typist).
At least they used the term "raped".

Just watched it, tried to argue it being the same as gay marriage, black and white not being allowed to marry before 1967??, Ended up getting 3000 years.

Only in the respect that it was his "group" trying to make pedophilia as a civil right, did not really focus on that other then it trying to co-op legitimate civil right issues |

Are you sure that's new? From what I can see the show is on hiatus from 01/13 until 3/03 - because of the Olympics I think.  |
