Ok so now police in the U.K are telling people to rat on their neighbors if the snow the roof of their houses melts too quickly.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicestershire/8447110.stm

Snow melting prematurely on a roof could be a clue that the house is being used as a cannabis factory, police say.
Officers in Leicestershire are asking residents to look out for homes where roof-top snow has melted more quickly than on neighbouring buildings. They said cannabis factories were equipped with high-level lighting, which generates a lot of heat, causing snow and ice to melt. The force said it hoped to use the cold weather to find more factories.Drug find arrests On Wednesday officers discovered more than 100 plants at a house in John Nicholls Street, Hinckley. They found a further 200 at Hinckley Road, Leicester Forest East, on the same day.One man has been arrested in connection with the find at Leicester Forest East, and remains in custody pending further police inquiries. No arrests have been made in connection with the other find, but police say inquiries are continuing. Sgt Mel Thomas said: "This is another clue that members of the public should be aware of. "If the snow has melted from a neighbour's house when everywhere else still has a covering, it could indicate that the house is being used for growing cannabis."

ROFL!!!

It couldnt be because you dont have enough insulation or that you have your heating on too high counld it?
No, no snow = drug factory, a real logical leap there . . .

I noticed in the article that they didn't mention if the drug arrests were related to not having snow on their roofs. Probably not. I seriously doubt a sane judge would give a warrant based only on poor roof insulation, unless they don't bother with warrants anymore. In which case it's dropped in there to give the impression that having snow depletion on your roof is evidence of a drug dealing terrorist next door and it's your patriotic duty to call the black uniformed police who have nice lightning bolt badges to come and apprehend and swiftly torture them to preserve the continuity of our freedom and way of life.

Maybe a sane Judge is an oxymoron so they probably did get a warrant.

Well, it doesn't really matter what the reason for the lack of snow is, does it?  The point is, if "they" (intelligence services, organized crime, whoever it is who wants a target gone) want to raid a target's house, they now have one more wedge.  If the poor bastard is unlucky enough to have poor insulation, they can have a snitch call in an anonymous tip, and their butts are covered for anything they want to do, up to and including a shoot-out with the dangerous drug dealer.

Yeah it pretty much gives them an excuse to say snitch on your neighbor for anything. That's probably why the BBC is promoting it, to put it in to people's heads to snitch on their neighbor for bad snow. It always amazes me how they use the most mundane pointless things to say oh my good we're surrounded by terrorists/criminals give up all your rights and turn in your neighbours/friends/family. It shows you how they are appealing to the dumbest knuckle dragger out there as anyone with an ounce of common sense could see that melted snow on a roof is not evidence of a drug den.

With the new generation of flourescent grow lights, they wouldn't have the heat or high electricity bills, which they also look for.

Leicester is like ' a war zone ' at night.

The town is full of drunks, fights and even the odd stabbing and murder once in a while.

Would it be to much to ask the constabulary to tackle real crime before wasting time chasing damn hippies ?

Seems to me that the police are looking
for ways to increase the number of drug arrests
without having to do any work
which would threaten their physical safety.

As EG said:
There are enough drunken brawls on a Saturday night to increase arrest numbers.

Why not tackle those threats to society?

The other day i took the "tube" into liverpool - when i got off i was confronted by about twenty police with sniffer dogs - the dogs they told me after i asked, were sniffing for drugs and explosives.

Odd combination i thought.

There was a piece in our telegraph last week , they had police and sniffer dogs at Coventry train station that sniffed out 30 people trying to board trains that were carrying drugs . It was a 1 week operation and everyone that was arrested was carrying cannabis .

Cheesy

Yeah. Unless they do a hair strand test.

It seems to me they are just going on "fishing trips" in areas with alot of people instead of doing real police work.

What if you've got plenty of legal guns. Do you think they will consider you as a domestic extremist?
I only say this because I am looking at particular sites eg.
http://www.netcu.org.uk/default.jsp
Where it says that anti-globalist and anti-gmo crops activists are considered domestic extremists.
