Do you believe this? If it was that easy of a fix, why was it there to begin with? Hardly a mistake!

Making good on its promises, Apple released an update to iOS 4 today that addresses many of the concerns raised over a file on the iPhone and iPad that stores location data.

The iOS 4.3.3 update reduces the size of the chunk of a crowd-sourced location database stored on individual devices, stops the file from being backed-up on iTunes and deletes the file entirely if a user disables location services

yeah no doubt it's easy to "fix", just a file. it was there to track you silly  only reason they are "fixing" it is cuz they were called out on it. no not a mistake at all. was all designed, just like the living organism, something doesn't come from nothing.

i'll wait for third party verification that it has been removed.

I don't see them removing the general ability to track a phone or be able to access info on said phone. All they will really do is claim they have a new policy on how to handle data "in a more secure way" of course. The whole key to their system is GPS and the ohone making a connection to a given tower and the GPS system. They can literally track the phones two different ways, at least.

It's just like the internet, which these new phones have browser software now, so they are in effect mini laptops. Connection to the internet is not one-way. You go online, you're subject to somebody accessing your computer. Same with the phones.

The new "smart phones" are no longer phones, but mini computers with internet access that also have a phone feature and neato fancy smancy camera to record evidence of all your peeps! And they even have apps now that you can use your phone as a payment method at the register. Next thing you know, they will have an app that allows patients to "swipe" their medical records each time they go to the doctor.

People really need to wake up!
