Obama approves aid to Israel, Palestinian Authority

So how much of the $2.775 billion will be funnelled back into the coffers of US Congresspersons on condition that they will vote unconditionally in favor of Israel?

Quote from:

Jewish state receives $2.775 billion as part of agreement granting it $30 billion in coming decade; Palestinians get $500 million for first time

US President Barack Obama this week signed the 2010 foreign aid budget law which includes $2.775 billion in security aid to Israel. This is the second year the budget is transferred to the Jewish state as part of understandings that the American assistance to Israel in the coming decade will total $30 billion.

The approved budget comprises, for the first time, $500 million in aid to the Palestinian Authority, including $100 million for the training of Palestinian security forces by American general Keith Dayton.

The aid will be handed over to the Palestinians under the condition that the American taxpayers' money will only be transferred to a Palestinian government whose members accept the conditions of the international Quartet – the United States, Russia, the European Union and the United Nations. The conditions include recognizing Israel, renouncing violence and accepting past agreements signed with the Jewish state.

For the first time, the American foreign aid budget law includes a clause forbidding American export and import banks to use the aid funds for providing guarantees, insurance or credit to companies sullying refined oil to Iran.

Netanyahu relinquishes civilian aid

The annual American aid was given for the first time following the peace agreement Israel signed with Egypt, and had amounted to $3 billion a year. It was comprised of $2 billion in security aid and $1 billion in civilian aid.

During his first term in office, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gradually relinquished the civilian aid, while increasing the security assistance to $2.4 billion.

When the agreement expired, a new memorandum of understanding was signed between the Bush administration and the Olmert government to gradually increase the security aid in the coming decade due to the need to maintain Israel's advantage in light of the threats posed by Iran and terror organizations.

Despite the serious financial crisis, the Americans did not raise the possibility of reducing the aid or cancelling it at any stage. Israel is bound by the agreement to use 75% of the security aid in dollars – in other words, to produce military devices in the US in order to help create workplaces there.

In addition to the regular annual security aid, President Obama and the American Congress approve special additions to the Israeli defense industries for the development of technologies, particularly in the missile defense field.

The US has helped and continues to help Israel with the production line of the Arrow 2 missile defense project, which is jointly developed by the Boeing company and the Israel Aerospace Industries. For the past two years, the US has been funding the development of the Arrow 3 system for multilevel defense against Iranian ballistic missile.

Obama gives money to anyone, it seems.

Hey Obama, how much money did you spend while you were President?  All of it.

Izys and playmates are eating this up, the Palesininas need the money ok, but I think they are more concerned about survival and freedom.

Israel has been getting fortunes from us for half a decade.

Notes: FY 2000 military grants include $1.2 billion for the Wye agreement and $1.92 billion in annual military aid. FY 2003 military aid included $1 billion from the supplemental appropriations bill. The economic grant was earmarked for $960 million for FY 2000 but was reduced to meet the 0.38% rescission. Final amounts for FY 2003 are reduced by 0.65% mandated rescission, the amounts for FY 2004 are reduced by 0.59%, and the amounts for FY 2008 are reduced by .81%.

Sources: CRS Report RL33222: U.S. Foreign Aid to Israel, updated Jan. 2, 2008, plus the FY ’08 omnibus appropriations bill, H.R. 2764.

Thats just a percentage of our tax money and debt to assist Israel..
