Read the article about the new bill on Prison planet:

http://www.prisonplanet.com/death-of-the-internet-censorship-bills-in-uk-australia-u-s-aim-to-block-undesirable-websites.html

This worries me, there must be something that everyday internet users can do to fight back against the bill? Do we not live in a democracy?

A petition or something, I don't know, what does everyone else think?

we do live in a democracy...although it was supposed to be a constitutional republic.

In our case (Australia), we petitioned, we swore at them - even the industry told them they were f**king pinheads who had no clue what they were doing, and that even if they did manage to get it in place, it wouldn't work.

Nada.

I dunno what to do then. Im really freaked by this, I mean, websites like this would cease to exist in the near future, or atleast be alot harder to reach.

China has already stopped people from registering websites for personal use, things look to be going down the same road across the EU and America.

I can see huge problems in the future if "anti-government" websites are stricken from the internet, information and the truth will be a lot harder to come by, if at all possible.

Seems like Game Over.

Two words, Private Servers. They can't shut down what is not public, they can't regulate what isn't theirs. If it comes to that our taverns shall be these hidden servers.

If those servers go down we will form groups and send Compact Drives with new information to each other by person.

If we can't send drives we will use flyers. We will use dogs, birds, codes, ext. It is only game over when you stop playing the game. So are you going to stop playing or are you going to keep spreading the truth by whatever means we have to (non violent of coarse, unless the method is talking in a video game chat that has violence but that is virtual violence)?

Okay funny story, no sooner do I post my last message that my internet can't find the server. At first I thought that I had just gotten banned and I believed that I had not violated the rules then I ran a system diagnosis to find out why and they said some firewall was preventing my access and I know it wasn't mine because it flat out said that windows bla bla bla not your fire wall. Final message I got when I went back to trying to use msn was some about SMF not being able to do something or another. Coincidence, most likely, but one that hasn't gone unknowticed. Glad I wasn't banned though. Smiley

Anyway found this here and I believe it will give you more hope and answer your question.

It is only game over when you stop playing the game.

Awesome, inspired.

You sir know how to write a speech.

Even still, I refuse to let it ever come to that, Flyers, disks, word of mouth. Anything I can think of will be used to spread the word and prevent this bill from happening.

I can see this getting people riled up a lot more with it affecting them first hand.

GodDam Right! We fight till we die! They take away our food, we grow together, they take away our homes, we live together, they take away our republic we fight together, die together.... This is the most important time in human history so far. Forget the 60's forget 1776, it's all about 2010, and what we do from here on out!
