Failed missile launch caused strange light over Northern Norway? A strange spiral light in the sky was visible in the eastern sky over large areas of Northern Norway this morning. Norwegian space and defense experts believe that this was a failed Russian missile launch from the White Sea. The giant spiral shaped light that could be seen in the eastern sky for several minutes on Wednesday morning was probably caused by a failed missile launch from the White Sea, several Norwegian space and defense experts believe. Researcher at the Tromsø Geophysical Observatory Truls Lynne Hansen is certain that the light was caused by a missile launch: - The missile has probably come out of control and exploded. The peculiar spiral shaped light pattern comes from reflection of the sin in the leaking fuel, he said to Aftenposten. Spokesman in the Norwegian Defense Jon Espen Lien says that the Norwegian Defense does not know for sure what the light was, but that it probably was a Russian missile: - It is quite normal that Russia uses the White Sea and the Barents Sea as testing grounds for weapons. According to NRK, Arkhangelsk Radio sent out an advance warning about several missile launches from the White Sea in the period December 7-10.The warning included launches on the night to Wednesday. An anonymous source in the Northern Fleet told Norwegian news paper VG that they had no information about the incident. Press Attaché at Russia’s Embassy in Oslo Vladimir Isupov did neither have any that could explain the light phenomenon over Northern Norway. On the morning of November 1, another strange light phenomenon was visible in the sky from large areas of the northern parts of Norway. This incident also caused commotion and many creative explanations to the light were given on different discussion boards. The light was caused by a launch of a Sineva missile from the nuclear submarine “Bryansk” in White Sea, as reported by BarentsObserver. According to a warning about rocket launching in the White Sea, navigation is prohibited in the southern parts of the sea until December 15. http://www.barentsobserver.com/failed-missile-launch-caused-strange-light-over-northern-norway.4663494-58932.html

For the record, the title is meant to be descriptive.. people will think "bluebeam? lights in the sky? real?" and might read the thread. I have no idea about the evidence (if there is any) backing up the bluebeam theory

The arced movement of the object suggests a rocket launch.. but the wave pattern and the seemingly rotating light suggests otherwise. In short, i have no idea

its odd, i dont know if i buy the missle story. If it was a failed missle why the beam? Look at this pic, the beam is doing something to the ground. You can see a wisp of smoke or something rising from the ground in line with the beam.

maybe not but that obviously has nothing to do with a rocket and everything to do with the ionosphere and heating it up via H.A.A.R.P. which leads into blue beam imo everything the elite do ties into bluebeam

That thing is very interesting. I haven't seen anything like that before either. I heard the Russians had energy weapons but I didn't believe it.

I have seen something similar to this a LONG time ago. The spiraling can easily be explained by the rocket spiraling out of control. All we see is the white light and trail because it's dark. Had it happened during the day, you would see the rocket itself.
If I recall, the blue expanding circle is the fuel burning. Its called blue fire, and gives a blue tintish color when it gets flash burned (which the night sky magnifies)
Now why this happened so close to Norway if it was a Russian launch is beyond me..

Do the pictures look edited to you? Why is the stills so clear but the video isn't? Why does one sources pictures have spirals and the other doesn't?

It looks to me like it is being 'projected' from the mountaintop. I believe there are a large number of photos ... can't all be shopped.

Yeah I knew I remembered seeing a story. It was closer to Poland though and I don't know if it's finished now or not. Anyone know what the exercise was called? http://www.economist.com/node/14973206

I don't know if it's a light being projected. It seems to bend slightly like gravity was having an effect on it. From that particular shot anyway.

Could be the shutter speed and it's at night. Try taking video of northern lights and a long exposure SLR pic and the SLR shot would show a lot more detail.

Theres another possibility I've considered. What if it's related to Cern? How far away from Norway is the LHC?

Yes, the stills are long exposures ... thus the spiraling ... but also reveals what looks like the 'source' ~ the mountaintop or beyond.

It looks like the pic was taken on the South Eastern coast of Tromsø, that is where the warehouse district is.
