Just think about the "concept" of a Queen? Or a King. Why would you give him/her authority?

Same reason we give anyone authority.  They say they deserve it and we believe them, whether they're being honest or not.

There is no "gray" when it comes to what is good or evil, it is always black and white.  People have the potential to be as evil as Hitler, or as good as Gandhi or MLK Jr.  However, most people are more like zebras.

But why the need for someone else to take care of us?

for many, being taken care of means love, means the end of responsibility; means back to carefree days when mommy took care of us and there were no worries;
means end of difficult thinking, end of challenging ourselves, doing anything "hard"

means end of being an adult

But why the need for someone else to take care of us?

/Hijacking thread: To an extent, there's always a certain amount of trust that goes into everything, and we give power to others to help us deal with the many, many things that would otherwise take us a lot of time.  For example we trust the butcher to know the difference between T-Bone and Sirloin outside of just the shape for what they're supposed to look like (though a lot of us learn at least a little), we trust restaurants to cook food properly for us (or at least that we can get our money back/not pay if they don't) etc.  Likewise we give contractors the power to actually determine what goes into our buildings and roads, and to determine, ultimately, how well its done.

That's on the small scale.  We can't always do everything, or investigate everything, ourselves.  Both because of our own limitations on resources, including time, and also because sometimes we lack the skills or aptitude necessary for the task.

So we trust in others, and help shoulder each others responsibilities, some more than others.  Because we can't all agree all the time on who should handle what responsibility, the idea that someone else, that is "impartial" should handle it is an old thought.  Whether it was thought of innocently or invented by the corrupt to begin with is another debate.  However, even if I did have the time and resources to do EVERYTHING I need to do to survive by myself, I'd still want to have others to help me, and take some of the responsibility off me.  For example, I don't want to build every road I'll ever use, or every building, nor do I want to cook dinner every night.  And, quite frankly, I don't want to manage all of my disputes either.  In part because I know I'll be biased for most of them, and I value fairness and impartiality.

Even more, I can't check on every source of news (though I try to check a lot), and even then my resources are limited in that capacity as well, not having the time, given authority, or funds to look into each piece of news personally.

So we all trust in others, and give them some of the responsibility.  With great responsibility, comes great power (well, usually).

/end thread hijack.

And yes, tits are important.

no fun

But back on topic: the fact that Lady Gaga has an audience amazes me.

I got some of his work.  That dude was twisted or on something.  Cool stuff but definitely out there for his time.

I like his art, but I am somewhat certain most of it is drug/spirit induced.

As far as inSanes opinion on "steam punk" is a little off base. It has nothing to do with satanic death worship. Most of it is just a love/hate expression of modern technology. It is just taking stylizing ideas from the the steal/steam age and applying it to object from the electronic age.

I have some friends who are artists and make a living on "retro" fitting buildings with a classical look, and they arguable could be called steampunk artists.

Recently, I threw away all my rock music CDs, when I realized that one of the most wicked men on this earth, Alister Crowley, had alot of influence on this industry.

Thats too bad. Rock is based on rhythm. Music based on varying the rhythm originated from African culture, long before Aleistar Crowley was born.

No doubt some bands were influenced by him, but that doesn't justify writing off an entire genre.

If you think genre of music is what is influenced by the devil, did you know liturgical plainsong and punk have the same fundamental signatures?
