ClimateGate Interesting Comment in Source Code
« on: November 24, 2009, 10:17:16 PM »
I managed to secure a copy of the hacked material and was browsing the source code when I came across this comment.

;
; PLOTS 'ALL' REGION MXD timeseries from age banded and from hugershoff
; standardised datasets.
; Reads Harry's regional timeseries and outputs the 1600-1992 portion
; with missing values set appropriately. Uses mxd, and just the
; "all band" timeseries
;****** APPLIES A VERY ARTIFICIAL CORRECTION FOR DECLINE*********
;
yrloc=[1400,findgen(19)*5.+1904]
valadj=[0.,0.,0.,0.,0.,-0.1,-0.25,-0.3,0.,-0.1,0.3,0.8,1.2,1.7,2.5,2.6,2.6,$
2.6,2.6,2.6]*0.75 ; fudge factor

Im unsure of the language but seems very strange to be applying corrections to raw data.

I would like to see the importance of the evidence embedded in the source code comments recognised.

The thing is the counter attack from the media is all about how "we poor dumb climate denial phreaks" are taking the comments out of context.

Well excuse me, but comments in the programming source code are not out of context.

Although I can understand that this is not a run away thread, its importance can not be underestimated.

Great find, Rabinski! Keep digging this info out!

More here, for those who are just tuning in to this discussion! These liars are caught red-handed!

More here about how these same goons at the UN IPCC rec'd the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE with Al Gore in 2007. I guess the Nobel Peace Prize has been cheapened forever! They may as well dispose of it if these are the type of people who win it!  ::)

Info on the 'Findgen' command:

http://www.physics.nyu.edu/grierlab/idl_html_help/F22.html

And why would a variable be named "valadj=" - unless it's to 'adjust a value'.

I'd have to see more of it - any spots where it's posted? Or what would one need to search for on Torrent to find it?
And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!

Search this page of the emails. Someone went to a lot of work to post them all here, and searchable! (Not sure if this works for the code, but it sure does for other terms)
http://www.eastangliaemails.com/index.php

EXAMPLE; Search on Holdren! (John P Holdren - Obamas Science Czar currently and who co-authored "ECOSCIENCE") He's in these emails and was a part of this.

Someone posted a list of all of the emails that is searchable here:
http://www.eastangliaemails.com/index.php

Example: Do a search on HOLDREN (As in John P. Holdren. This is Obama's science czar who co-authored the book "Ecoscience" in 1977 which is being implemented.)

If you don't understand the significance of John P. Holdren being also involved in this sham. Read this info on the man:

Thanks for the encouragement

I see that someone has compiled a full list of code comments http://www.prisonplanet.com/climategate-hide-the-decline-%E2%80%93-codified.html

I wrote a submission earlier this year to my Goverment on AGW and was luck enough to recieve input for Dr. John R. Christy, Professor Richard S. Lindzen, Dr. Patrick Moore, Dr. Timothy F. Ball, Professor Paul Reiter, Dr. S. Fred Singer and Professor Ian Clark. I have forwarded my descovery to them.

This guy has been breaking the code down and showing the abysmal state of most of it. http://chiefio.wordpress.com/2009/11/21/hadley-hack-and-cru-crud/ Most of the good stuff is in the comments.
