Looks like a big brain wash for the young people. http://www.detnews.com/article/20091108/BIZ04/911080329/1001/bizNew York -- This holiday season's biggest entertainment blockbuster likely will be a sequel to a popular franchise, with jarring depictions of war and an intricate story of good versus evil. It could easily rake in more than last year's record $155 million opening weekend for "The Dark Knight."

Adults are taking a day off from work. So they can stay up all night - and play a video game.
I have nothing against video games - in moderation, like everything else. But try getting your priorities at least a LITTLE bit in order people.
People are out of work in record numbers, losing their homes - but hundreds of millions of dollars will still be spent on this one video game.
And people here are always asking why Americans aren't waking up and getting angry about what's going on?

i wouldn't say so
there are alot of PC gamers who are not going to bother paying for modern warfare 2, they are not going to have dedicated servers
that and the game is TEN plus more dollars
i was going to buy MW 2 till i learned about this
im probably gonna p.i.rate, play single player, then delete game

I actually met the former CEO/President of Infinity Ward (makers of call of duty series) last night. Really nice guy. He isn't too pleased with the fact there aren't dedicated servers for MW2, and said this wouldn't be the case if he were still CEO.

And then at the end of these ads, they say how the Army et al is partners et al with the NFL. Pt being that the NWO is doing all they can to program young males into joining the military, or even trying to prepare them for battle when the fan hits the ceiling.

You see that with all big sports events. They`ll bring out someone in military uniform to sing the national anthem and have the jets fly over. All to make the audience feel warm and fuzzy about our wars....It makes me ill.

this new call of duty has a controversial mission in it where you play a terrorist and mow down civilians, the game even warns you about it and gives you the option to skip the mission. very poor taste in my opinion especially after the whole fort hood fiasco

Oh god, on the front page of our newspaper here there was this big thing about a women making her son who died in Afghanistan's funeral public and open to the media because it is important for us to recognize the sacrifices that are necessary to win a war. I banged my head against the counter after done reading. NOW, on topic. Kind of interesting about the new CoD game is the level that is so controversial is actually set in a Moscow airport, not an American(doesn't make it any better, but still) and you are apparently a CIA Agent undercover. At the end of the mission, your Russian partners shoot you, saying they knew you were a CIA agent the whole time. The reason they do it is to frame an American for the shoot up of the airport to justify war against America(who in Call of Duty games are the saints of the world, with their perfect Brit sidekicks). My opinion? Meh. I don't see what the big deal over it. The singleplayer will be short with some fun gameplay, that's about it. THe multiplayer will be the same boring fragfest with no strategy or depth. I don't see why it is so popular. Call me strange, but what worries me most about the new Call of Duty games is just the sad decline and dumbing down video games are receiving in order to appeal more to the crowd of idiots. Meh. *goes back to playing Europa Universalis and Balders Gate*.

Thread title is wrong, it's Modern Warfare 2. Call of Duty 2 was a WW2 shooter, that wasn't half bad. I personally think it had the best multiplayer o the series, but I played on a realism server which required a lot of strategy.

Yeah, I thought that too when I was in the game industry as a 3D modeler and texture artist. Then it dawned on me that I'm making sport of the killing of other humans. It wasn't fun anymore. Thank God I found something more edifying to spend my time on.

I pre-ordered through Steam and am looking forward to play it. I've also been playing Fallout 3, which depicts a post-nuclear D.C. Talk about controversy, *that* game has it all, including aliens interacting with the former government and scientists polluting the public water supply. One of the songs featured even mentions Rockefeller's name.

uh dude, the military is behind these games, they are programming millions to dehumanize the act of killing via mind control on TV and video games, this is proven without a shadow of doubt. WTF? you like playing the game, cool have fun, but to deny the mind control and dehumanization agenda by the NWO is pretty much denial of reality.

As for being "ON" all the time, thank you for noticing. My faith is 24/7, and not just Sundays. It's a life choice, not some hobby that I'll get bored with by the time the next FPS beta gets released. Been there more than you even know. Even worked the Game Developers Conference two years running(San Fran and San Jose). It's a waste of precious time, trust me. And the military is knee-deep in gaming. One of my classmates is lead programmer for Atlantic Cyberspace in Hawaii(look it up). His name is Nick. Was one of the leads on the Core Project, an indy game they developed using the Unreal engine. You people have no idea how your being lead astray.

I'll give you that there are some games which are directly connected to the Military Industrial complex, like Americas Army, and maybe Flashpoint, and I do not deny that. But to throw a blanket statement out there that they are ALL involved with the military is just setting yourself up to look foolish. I'd never be foolish to throw a blanket statement out about anything. You say its all proven, but based on what? More random internet posts and theories? That's hardly proof Sane. Like I said, I'll give you that there are limited titles that are out there which bare connections to the military industrial complex. The rest are generally just put out to satisfy the bloodlust we all seem to inherently have, just like our Roman ancestors did in the colliseum. But I suppose thats a conspricay too to feed that bloodlust. uh dude, the military is behind these games, they are programming millions to dehumanize the act of killing via mind control on TV and video games, this is proven without a shadow of doubt. Well apparently you wanted some sort of commentary or input on your life choice, because you made your distaste and position real clear in your post. So I leveled sarcasm appropriately. And my on comment had nothing to do with your faith. I do not attack peoples faith if its Christian. It was i nregarfds to the people around here who are always on, and see conspriacies around every corner. Did I ask for your approval on my life decisions? You do what you like. Ive noticed with MLSnet.com (major league soccer here in the USA) they have big banners that say FLU.gov. and even the games on TV on the sideline billboards are advertising FLU.gov. Has anyone ever been to that GOV site? They basically call out everything we say is purely a myth... mercury, themerisol, squaline, etc... its all just a myth and its actually needed in the vaccines.

Fair enough. There are indeed other mindsets that are always on, and tend to be a touch paranoid.
Personally, I don't see the military behind every game out there. BUT, they are involved in alot more than you might realize. The military is heavily involved in gaming technology. Saw that first hand at the conferences. There's a real good reason for "America's Army" and a couple other games out there that were in fact military projects initially.
What I consider just as bad is the infestation of in-game advertising and product placement. When that happened, it took creativity out of the process and made money the only driving force behind game development.

Multiplayer COD4 is a very fun game. We are still allowed to have fun, aren't we?
They took all the fun out of it for the PC version so they could make a few more dollars selling you crappy maps in a few months. Having a ping over of over 100 for an FPS is unplayable, to me.

I don't fear what man can do to me, but there are times to consider others, so being reserved is not a bad thing. Thanks, good advice.

uh, dude, DO YOU KNOW YOUR ENEMY? Vivendi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivendi_SAMoney and politics Vivendi Universal disclosed a corporate loss of €23.3 billion in its 2002 annual report; the worst loss to date for a French company. Amid intense media scrutiny, its chairman and CEO, Jean-Marie Messier (who had overseen the most dramatic phase of the company's diversification), was subsequently replaced by Jean-René Fourtou. Vivendi is a Fortune Global 500 company ranked #264, with a total revenue in the year 2008 of 29.6 billion USD. [1] However, its massive expansion in the late 90s and early 21st century has caused the company both financial and legal trouble. The problems arose during the term of former CEO, Jean-Marie Messier; both US and French regulators are investigating potential cover-ups of company losses [2].
Vivendi is also an example of privatization of a public service, the distribution of water and wastewater.

If we post online, or even have a web presence at all, we might as well have a foorprint thats a size 50. The only way ot keep from leaving a footprint is to not be online. There really is no safe browsing/posting/emailing strategy, other than simply not doing it. Thats not to say I dont take severe efforts to mask what i can...but in the end, its only as effective as the technology we KNOW about.

The resistance starts here. Unfortunately, the entire thing is moving beyond the intellectual infowar. I vow I will not make an overt rush at violent authority, until authority makes it's violent rush at me and you. I will not falter, I will not die in this course. For that is how they win.

Infinity Ward is controlled by Vivendi. There is no Infinity Ward, it is Vivendi. Look into Vivendi, they are controlled by the Bilderberg French conglomerate. WTF?

All eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. The general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately
