3 days ago I discovered that the water we drink in the United States causes lowering of the IQ, weakening of the bones, bone caner, and so many other cancerous disease. This was a shock to me, I brought this to my mom's attention and she simply ignored it, because unfortunately my family blindly believes that the water we drink is pure just because the local news paper and the water company said so. Anyway since then I have been doing intense research on how to purify water, and I found that there are soooooo many filters and sooo many ways to purify water, and so many opinions on what works and what doesn't.

So I decided for me Pure Water is elimination of Bacteria, Fluoride, Arsenic, Lead, all chemicals, all I want is the natural minerals and clean water with absolutely no chemicals at all.

3 Systems I actually Liked:

1. Reverse Osmosis of 5 Stages under your sink. (Please suggest which one I should consider getting.) 2 that I liked were:
a) http://www.filterwater.com/pc-105-17-undersink-fluoride-filter-triple.aspx
b) http://www.freedrinkingwater.com/ro-45-detail.htm

2. Distilled Water. (I like this step, however some say that it will eliminate minerals important for the growth of our body. So the question is: Are small amount of minerals contained in water really important for our health when we can get many more minerals from fruit and vegetables.

3. The Big Berkey. I love this one and want to get it but unfortunately I live in California, one state where they do not ship.

My real question to you guys is that should I do all three of these steps or should I just do Undersink Reverse Osmosis and then The Big Berkey filtration system.. (If I can get it)

#1, but as for A and B I have no preference. Adding a berky to RO seems like overkill.

My $0.02 is the Big Berkey.  If the crap hits the fan you could take it with you.

The restriction must have just started, because I was able to buy a Berkey here last year.  In a worst case, you can buy the Berkey sport bottles.  You can have those shipped to California.

well, for free PURE water from thin air you could build a few solar stils . . .
You`ll need a big one, or several small ones. Useful tool to have - just in case Smiley a quick internet search will show you how to build one .

If I had the means, I would get the R/O or the ecolablue and the berkey (berkey for taking with you.)

I don't have the means or the inclination to leave a system at home if the SHTF so I got the berkey and the sport berkey.  I love it!  It suits my needs and my budget.
