letter I just got back from the Medical Research Council here in UK and, yeah, she passed the buck aka deferred publication of the findings to WHO (surprise!)

The National Institute of Medical Research, funded by the Medical Research Council is handling samples from the Ukraine as part of its ongoing work. In terms of reporting the findings of the sample analysis, I would recommend contacting the WHO who will be responsible for disseminating the results.

The death toll from the flu epidemic in Ukraine has reached 328, with 12 deaths registered over the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Wednesday. The number of officially confirmed H1N1 strain swine flu deaths in Ukraine has reached 15, with 166 people infected. Last week, Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) chief, Raisa Bohatyryova, said there were "constitutional prerequisites" for a state of emergency amid the flu epidemic, which has left a total of 1,457,564 people infected as of November 18. A state of emergency, if it is declared, could delay the presidential polls scheduled on January 17, 2010 until May. Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said she saw no need for such measures. Because it's virulent enough to be highly transmittable, but the amino acid placement is too short on a specific gene (PB1-F2) from the virus' genetic code to be exactly like H5N1 or 1918 H1N1, except for those who are genetically susceptible to it.

Reports are coming in of people dying of symptoms similar to the pneunomic plague in an Emergency Room in Bialystok in the north east of Poland.
  A doctor reported treating three patients with symptoms similar to the pneumonic plague, including burned lungs. One the patients died in his arms. The doctor said that it appeared be a bacterial infection and that no antibiotics worked. He also thought it could be a more virulent strain of the swine flu.  The victims came from small villages close to Bialystok.

Low flying aircraft were heard in the region a few nights ago.
Cases similar to the pneumonic plague have also be reported in Lithuania, close to the Polish border and to Bialystok.
The appearance of something resembling the pneumonic plague in Poland shortly after low flying aircraft made carried out unexplained missions during the night time in the same area has parallels with the recent incident in the Ukraine.
Witnesses reported low flying planes carrying out aerosol spraying shortly before the pneumonic plague was diagnosed in victims a few days later.

The Ukrainian government and WHO moved swiftly to declare the swine flu virus had mutated to become more dangerous and implement martial law.

  My friend a doctor who works in Emergency Room in Bialystok (Eastern North of Poland) called me saying that he had 3 cases of patients with symptoms similar to the pneumonic plague. "If it is h1n1, so it means that it has changed for very virulent form and it kills in matter of hours". One patient died in his hands. I do not know what happened to other two. He is going to inform me how's the situation, but he expects it to get much worse. No antibiotic works for the disease!

I am not convinced that Ukrainian Plague is a mutated or recombined A/H1N1. It could be a different virus altogether, or perhaps not even a virus. 
WHO has failed to contain the illness, and it is spreading. 

While there is no doubt that the lab created A/H1N1 virus will mutate and recombine naturally, what is happening in the Ukraine is a deliberate act of war upon the population there.
Further, since the Ukraine was not locked down and people have been allowed to come and go from the Ukraine, it is certain that whatever the illness is, it will spread globally.

This makes it an Act of War against the human race.

I even tried a search on russian google (took me a while my russian is not so good) but nada.

That's one of the biggest reasons all of us are interested in this, well, myself at least.   If there wasn't something fishy going on, they would be screaming from the rooftops about this.

Via the Kyiv Post: Health Ministry: Flu, respiratory diseases claim 344 lives in Ukraine. The whole report:
The current flu epidemic and other acute respiratory diseases in Ukraine has claimed 344 lives by Wednesday evening, the Health Ministry said.
It said 18 people had died of such diseases in the previous 24 hours. 
The ministry said 1.502 million people had contracted such illnesses since the epidemic broke out and that 44,781 had fallen ill in the past 24 hours.  A total of 83,904 people have been hospitalized since the start of the epidemic, and 54,407 of them have been discharged from the hospital by Wednesday evening. 
The ministry also said 2,878 people had been hospitalized for the previous 24 hours. 
The ministry has published no separate statistics on cases of A/H1N1 influenza or swine flu.
That last line is the problem: If H1N1 is lumped in with "other acute respiratory diseases," we have no idea what's really going on. If anything, the large and precise numbers make me suspicious.
Meanwhile, the latest ECDC Surveillance Update reports exactly 15 H1N1 deaths in Ukraine, along with 7 in Belarus and 19 in Russia. But it also gives Brazil's death total as 1,368, a statistic at least a month out of date.

WHO's second Ukraine update, published on November 17, gave no statistics at all, saying only that the samples taken in Ukraine show "no significant changes" from H1N1 samples taken elsewhere in the world.

I realize that WHO can't be too candid about the conditions in a country that's politically unstable and lacking a solid healthcare system. I also realize that various interested parties are using the pandemic for political purposes.

The people warning about "pneumonic plague" and "hemorrhagic flu" don't seem to have much evidence to back them up. But outside experts like WHO and ECDC don't seem to have much evidence either--at least, evidence they're willing to make public.

So until someone shows up with reliable statistics and no political ax to grind, I'm going to treat all reports out of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia with considerable skepticism.
