I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar this guy is going to be the next President. He is to the Conservatives what Barack Obama is to the liberals - a good actor 'pretending' to be the tough guy/friendly guy their constituent base so desires.
And Arnie has one massive advantage - for years he has been portraying deadly killer cyborgs, so persuading the Republican lemmings he's going to come down 'big' on terrorists, Mahmoud Ahamadinejad and whatever the hell you want to think of - well, it won't be a hard sell.
And Obama already got rid of the whole 'You've got to be a true-blood American to be the Commander in Chief of America' qualm - so the door is left wide open for Mr Universe.
Arnie = Reagan 2.0 on steroids (pun intended).
From here on out every President is just going to be an actor - they've sidestepped the whole middlemen thing - 'Oh I'm an actor masquerading as a politician/statesmen' and gone straight for the lowest common denominator. Kiefer Sutherland will probably be the 45th POTUS, and after that who knows...
