"The President of what?"

« on: June 26, 2009, 04:18:11 PM »

Solomon wrote the book.  Sean Penn narrates the documentary based on the book.

It is excellent!

All about how the government and media work together to sell the public on war.  Lots of presidential soundbites that sound eerily similar.

He talks a lot about truth.  He has some very interesting info on Tonkin and the Iraq WMDs.

He would be a great guest...the entire movie is basically Solomon being interviewed.

This movie blasts the mainstream news outlets for being in bed with the military industrial complex.

This movie would be good to give someone right before you drop Terrorstorm on them.

I think it is on Starz this month...I watched it on Netflix.

people complain about the shitness of the internet in the War Of Truth, but there are so many good documentaries and so much truth reporting out there ... I've only just watched this excellent documentary

War Made Easy - victims of the corporate death machine
http://mikephilbin.blogspot.com/2009/09/war-made-easy-victims-of-corporate.html

War Made Easy reaches into the Orwellian memory hole to expose a 50-year pattern of government deception and media spin that has dragged the United States into one war after another from Vietnam to Iraq. Expounding the research of award-winning journalist Norman Solomon about how the Corporate Media drives the Corporate War Effort, consistently for each new military action - as they will when the notice to round up the people in a Martial Law announcement goes out.

Narrated by actor and activist Sean Penn, the film exhumes remarkable archival footage of official distortion and exaggeration from LBJ to George W. Bush, revealing in stunning detail how the American news media have uncritically disseminated the pro-war messages of successive presidential administrations.

Finally: look at how they DEMOLISHED anti-war talk-show megastar Phil Donahue three weeks before the Iraq War began.
