Chris Broughton, the man who brought an AR-15 rifle and a handgun to an Arizona Obama rally earlier this month, says he "concurs" with his fundamentalist pastor's prayer for President Obama "to die and go to hell." And in an interview with a local TV station, pastor Steven Anderson himself elaborated on his statement to TPMmuckraker that he would prefer Obama to die of natural causes so "he's not some martyr." "I don't want him to be a martyr, we don't need another holiday. I'd like to see him die, like Ted Kennedy, of brain cancer," Anderson now says. In an interview with ABC 15 outside the storefront Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Broughton said of Anderson's controversial August 16 "Why I Hate Barack Obama" sermon: "I concur, I think we'd be better off if God would send [Obama] where he's going now instead of later. [Obama] is destroying our country." And when a reporter followed up with, "you're not advocating violence against the president?" Broughton, who has previously said his weapons are for defense, says "I'm not going to answer that question directly." "I don't care how God does it, I'm not going into further detail than that," Broughton says. "It would be better now than later." In fact, Broughton added, he moved to the Tempe area to attend Anderson's storefront church, which is an "old-fashioned, independent, fundamental, King James Bible only, separated Baptist church." Roughly 24 hours after attending Anderson's anti-Obama sermon, Broughton made national headlines when he showed up heavily armed to an Obama event in Phoenix. Here's the ABC 15 report: video at link

Utter failure. This guy did a good thing for open carry -- but just stuffed his foot into his mouth big time. Resentment of him is building in my mind... but at the same time my resentment should be directed at the Media and their incessant flaunting of radical opinions to demonize a wider group.

Oh Geez.... The guy did so well a few weeks ago when the incident broke but now him and the pastor are not thinking to clearly now and are really giving media ammo to further demonize patriots. This how the media is/will spin this Arizona Right Wing Extremist Strip Mall preacher say that he wishes Obama yada yada yada...... And self hating Black church "sect" member agrees with him.  They need to be very careful of what they are saying to the media. Be caculating and caution of every word you speak. |

If these guys said this... then they have misspoken for all of us who disagree with Obama, and make us all look like dangerous folks who need to be contained in FEMA camps so we arent a danger to those righteous peace loving Obamanazi liberals. Yes... expect a SPLC report on this shortly. It's odd because these folks seemed to understand "Publc Relations," yet that all went 'tits up' assuming these words are legitimate in this report. Glad their color came to the surface, keeps us from getting involved with radical ideologies. Alex Jones is the only person who doesn't have some quackery or radicalism underneath their message that I have looked into personally. Really is quite remarkable when you dig into the characters within the 'truth movement,' each person has a belief or philosophy that could (were the Media paying attention) discredit them instantly. It seems so many of the people within this cause don't understand the 'eye of saron' is always watching, and that if the Propaganda is accurate and verifiable, it's game over to win the minds of the Sheeple. They can fabricate propaganda against Alex Jones, but 99% of the time it's false and only discredits the media even further. |

regarding the checkpoint videos - I think you're right! At first I thought that Anderson looked familiar in the photo, and I think he is the same Pastor who was filmed being tasered for making a fuss at checkpoint near yuma arizona for not wanting his car randomly searched for illegal aliens or whatever. That story made a lot of people sympathetic to him, because many people don't like the feeling of being put under suspicion when moving freely in the country. Now the same guy is popping up at these other events. Why can't ordinary, sane acting people ever achieve success in activism. Maybe it is for a similar reason that people who run for office are far more narcissistic and willing to cut corners than ordinary members of the public. I don't listen to four hours of Alex Jones show each and every day so there are things I miss. Anyway, everyone knows that society is diverse with lots of perspectives, and it wouldn't be newsworthy that there is a character like him, but I believe the way he jumped onto the headline news has caused people to use him as a symbol of their opposition. I think Pastor Anderson is wrong. I would never wish ill will on anyone, regardless of their stance. I am a spiritual person and I believe it is up to God to judge, not us. I always pray for their enlightenment, that they may realize they are doing evil and want to change their wicked ways.
