I am looking for a GOOD quality shortwave radio, preferably small, that has dynamo and/or solar power.  I don't want the junk, something durable, even if it costs a bit.

W/E u do, don't buy the KA888.  Its a piece of crap, and I got it for $25 less than what Infowars' price showed.  Only picks up the major radio stations, and its never worked on shortwave for me, at least not yet.

Thanks for the input.  That is exactly the problem...I have spent hours searching for a good shortwave portable radio that runs on either dynamo or solar power (I prefer both) that is in a compact size.  While some people show good reviews ALL of the radios I've seen have poor reviews.  I have a Grundig that I paid $100 for and it picks up shortwave radio badly.  I'm starting to think this is a conspiracy in itself and wish to stay away from Katio, Eton-Grundig, any American Red Cross shortwave radios.  I've also seen that at least one model of Katio (I believe the 1000 model) has a 2-way capability with a two-mile radius.  Makes me wonder if these radio could be used as tracking devices in and of themselves???  Regardless I am still interested in finding a good radio, but you can see preciously what the problem is.  One person says this is great, another it is crap.  Seems that the overall quality of production on these radios is very poor, some get a good one, others a bad one.  Not the type of company I want to purchase a radio from.
