Symbolism in London Underground

So, I finally got around to signing up for this forum in addition to the others I frequent on the net. So I'd like to say hello along with making my first post here instead of the intro section!

Anyway.. I've been meaning to post this somewhere since I took this picture in the summer of '06 while living in Sweden(I'm from the States) but jumping all over Europe on the side.


As if walking around under camera arrays constantly wasn't enough.. Upon seeing this I stopped in my tracks, chuckled and took a picture of this nice little Orwellian number. I also emailed it to Alex awhile back to add to the symbolism section but never got any response. I know he gets an obscene amount of email so I'm not surprised.

Creepy.  London's transit services seem to have an Orwell fan in its advertising department - I keep seeing stuff like this from them.  Here in Ottawa (featured heavily in Endgame) we've got these little beauties on some of our bus stops:



...however, I'm not convinced it's really a Bohemian Grove or owl of Minerva/Athena/Isis reference.  It's a system by which after 9pm on major platforms all buses stop at the same location on the platform so that nobody is isolated.  It has cut down on people getting assaulted/mugged late at night.
