Yet another man-made piece of filth to mock God's sacred work of creation. Discovery gives infertile men hope I wouldn't be too happy if I had a kid that was designed in a lab. I can't believe this...this is just screwed beyond belief. First they had artificial insemination for lesbians, and now this? This is just going way too far.

Artificial insemmination with real sperm is one thing ! This is quite another. They could do what they liked now - insert perfect genes (hitler will be laughing his ass off in the grave) set up perfect baby farms - only allow those with permits to concieve using this artificial crap ! This is huge you guys - never mind what the scientists are currently blabbing about - once the NWO gets this technology into their hands they could use it for very bad purposes !

well, not to put a dampener on this but, as the evidence isn't in yet (sorry Creationists), there's no concrete opinion on where big-brained straight-backed spinal-cord-enters-under-skull Homo Sapiens came from ... you know that we all might have been biogenetically engineered 200,000 years ago, right?
that's still contestable...

Nope, we have a fair idea of where we came from, but no, we dont "KNOW" for sure. We could all be living in a marble bag in some aliens pocket ! We could all be living on an atom ! How do we know we are not timy picogram sized thing? We dont !

hitler will be laughing his ass off in the grave
Eugenics at its finest hour. As George Orwell said that a new "manufactured" homo sapien will emerge and make the old ones "obsolete" as they will be much more efficient, but unable to reason and think as all will be done for them. They will be operating in a collective mentality controlled by the "powers that be". By the way, Hitler can't be "laughing in his grave", since his men burned his and girlfriend Eva's body so the Allies couldn't get their hands on them.

People are like planks of wood, and then they think they can do what god did, lol.

Yes I read this last evening on the Daily Mail and was saddened by the story. They tout it as one of the possible miracles for men that can't seem to produce good swimmers and only want a baby with the wife. But we all know what they are really going to do with this technology, and it's frightening. Gattaca, indeed. Reminds me of another film and story, "Brave New World." Everyone was "engineered." Free sex was encouraged but no women carried children. The whole idea of pregnancy and birth was taught to be "revolting." Nature was taught to be un-natural. Everyone was in a caste system based on their abilities when created. And their drug of choice was "Soma," a feel-good state sanctioned drug that everyone took to feel good and never thought about anything other than having sex, planning to have sex with someone new, going to parties and their designated job. I saw the 1980 (very boring) version of that film, but apparently there was a 1998 version with Leonard Nimoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuiaT0nX9lsand according to IMDB, there might be another one for 2011. Sure a lot of these type movies coming out before 2012.

I guess when it comes to technology I tend to see the bright side of things. While any technology has the potential for bad, there is also the potential for good. Artificial sperm offers hope to men who can't produce viable sperm. Also there is the possibility of replacing genes that cause genetic abnormalities with healthy genes. I know there is also work towards producing artificial or humanized eggs. I see this as mostly a good thing also. As long as reproduction is always something that citizens do without government intervention, then I don't see any major problems here. Conceivable problems yes, but most people aren't prone to abuse this kind of technology.

"Discovery gives infertile men hope"
Hmmmm really? Like all the ones becoming sterile because of the gmo and artificial hormones you helped developed?
I don't see hope in this, I see massive ethics problems with the nature of life and scary eugenics perspectives for the future.
But sure, when your entire mind is so polluted that it is in fact artificial I guess you can't see how wrong this is.

Awesome... now they can crank up the mass sterilization. Soon there is only the artificial way left to create a child and they decide if you are fit to have one.

omg did I actually read this lol
imagine that they programed this "fake" spermage into ego altering submissive human decomposing chips. Once they go against the NWO they explode them LOL
is horrible what they are coming up with...the side effects alone makes one wonder ...perhaps the organs will have multiple degenerative defects and eventually the human race will deplete into oblivion.

Yes no more pregnant woman, eggs will be take from them and everything will be done in the labs, just like an assemby line, they will be made to fit every kind of job, they will all look like freeks, but will be best for a certain job.

Can't we have a mature conversation about this? Why is it that every time something like this gets mentioned, that people have to get all stupid about it?
