Well unlike drug addictions, this one can be solved by beating his ass, not with a remote though.

LOL, I love the dog! It keeps looking at him like, "WTF is wrong with you?". Then at a minute in the dog just splits. It's a sad state of affairs when a dog by far the superior intelligence.

I have 3 relatives who are seriously addicted to WoW. They're all total zombies most of the time, and their linguistic skills have diminished to low, muttering grunts of "hold on....wait....i'm fighting this thingie and...yeah....be right there..."
whenever anyone tries to pull them away.

Ya know, it sure looks like the child is suffering from some kind of psychotic break. Then again, if you think of him not as a teenager but an infant with physical and mental problems in the body of a teenager it makes more sense.

His higher brain functions must be fried!

I think that was real. Main reason is the look on the brother's face when he came back to get the camera and when the father shouts 'Shut up' you can see the fear and acknowledgment in the kid that he did not want to f**k with Pop.

I had my internet service go down for a few days once and i must admit i was severely irritated.  I wager there are a few of us around here that spend way too much time online. I enjoy it dont get me wrong but it has definitely taken on an addictive status in my life like coffee and smokes. Well at least most of us around here are trying to look into the real world and not escape it so on that level its easy to justify sitting around staring at the screen glow.  Smiley

I'm very concerned about some of the things they're saying and conveying. They show all the classical signs of emotional addiction, but each and every one essentially said the same thing:

1. Yes, I think it's addictive
2. No, I don't have a problem
3. It's easy to develop one though.
4. I think it's up to the individual to decide on whether or not they're addicted to WoW.
5. Yeah, I play 6 hours a day, so?
6. I don't have a PROBLEM with it......I have "ISSUES" with it.
7. How many hours was I away from warcraft? No, seriously, my whole day centered around going on raids, farming for stuff...even work was just kinda there to keep me going and SUPPORT MY HABIT.

I also noticed that nearly all of them have a slight speech impediment (caused by a significant decrease in the use of the muscles of the mouth, jaw, and tongue--like when you're TALKING WITH OTHER PEOPLE) and lack of vocabulary:

"I like the whole...playersper (?) aspect, cause, you know, you get to kill, you know, I mean not in real life, but you know, in the game...and jusseee what their reactions are...what they say...I've met people in Australia that I've talk to every day, and you know, uh, they're really cool, uh...basically just meeting new people....pretty much really good benefit"  (Now, come on, that doesn't even make grammatical SENSE.)

Something seriously wrong with these video games, guys....I used to play Burnout 3 all the time, too, but if it comes down to me drooling on myself when I speak in my dramatically-reduced language of about 50 words, I think I'll pass on the 360 from now on.

Well, here's the problem: A baby/toddler (on up to about 3 or 4 years old) sees absolutely NO DIFFERENCE between the reality of what he sees in his physical surroundings (his environment) and what's on the television screen. The basic behavioral patterns are set up around ages 2-4. Thus, the cartoon can be "not real" to the child but the child will still try to mimic the cartoon's behavior. The child "knows that the cartoon isn't real", though, so no problem, right? WRONG. Throw in the live action shows now on the kids channels like Hannah Montana, and there's a big problem... . If you ask a 4 or 5 year old if Hanna Montana is "real" or "make-believe", they honestly don't know (because to the child, if they LOOK like real people and not cartoons, maybe they ARE "real" but they also know that the character can't come through the screen and play with you, meaning it isn't "real"...This helps to stir up the confusion in the child's mind even more). Eventually, because of constant conflict/intermingling between the child's sense of reality and  fantasy, they end up like these morons playing WoW for 16 hours a day because they actually BELIEVE that they are SOCIALIZING NORMALLY. They have become so socially inept that they believe that "MEETING PEOPLE ONLINE" means being a dwarf carrying a crossbow and going with other characters on 6-hour-long killing sprees.

Like when you take your brainwashed kids to Disneyland and they believe a giant duck is walking around. Personally I always knew it was a guy in a duck suit, but I remember other kids had no clue.

yea of course i forgot to mention it is all brainwashing but its really how a person reacts to their self control and emotions to overcome what normally these WOW people or any mmorpg online game to go crazy or yell at the computer or to throw a fit short fuse when their mom cancels their WOW account

'Warped' teen convicted of shooting his parents in the head after they took away his X-Box game

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1114791/Warped-teen-convicted-shooting-parents-head-took-away-X-Box-game.html

"Although the defence did not contest the facts around the shooting, Defense Attorney James Kersey argued the teenager was not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming the computer game had affected his sense of reality."

I noticed that as well! They all have slight lisps and mumble. No enunciation skills at all.

I know, and ironically at 1:11 in. oh my god that's funny and disturbing at the same time....what is wrong with these kids? they have absolutely no social skills, no critical thinking skills, and these games just feed a meaningless obsession (they'll spend 16 hours on there so that they can find ONE item in the middle of nowhere....it's a GAME. whatever happened to going outside for a game of football?)

With the economic depression continuing to grow worse, wait until tens of millions of cash-strapped people are forced to choose between (a) their food bill and (b) their cable and cell phone bills.

That'll make heroin withdrawal look pleasant by comparison.

There is a film being released this year about the near future were people choose to live vicariously through remote control robots and computer link ups.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/touchstone/surrogates/hd/

FBI agents (BRUCE WILLIS and RADHA MITCHELL) investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves - fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles - enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. The murder spawns a quest for answers: in a world of masks, who’s real and who can you trust?

I used to play WoW for 2 years.

Then right when they came out with the first expansion pack i said no way this is going to be never ending and is a complete waste of time.

Since quitting I have gotten to within 1 semester of graduating, got a hot girlfriend that I love, and a great job at a bankruptcy firm.

Coincidence?  I don't know, but I will say that WoW is purposely made so it takes over 4+ hours of gameplay to do ANYTHING and at later levels "raids" can take upwards of 6-9 hours straight!

Insane!  World of Warcrack should be made illegal imo its horribly addicting and very hard to stop playing.
