How does one start/establish/found his own society in the good ol' USA?

I see thousands of "societies" all around. And apparently a society can be founded around almost anything....local orchid growers society, bowlers society of America, dung beetle appreciation society...whatever we want.

How is a society founded? I imagine one has to fill out some paperwork and get some friends together. Can anyone elaborate? Smiley

I started a registered charity once, and cause it was a charity,
the fees for the paperwork done were waivered.
i had only to register it with the right folks, i got 3500 pounds
from gov as donation.
it was about drug awareness.

yeah, that's the idea. How does one register a society within the USA?

Here, you have to basically formulate a contract and that's it, if you want to create a society, as opposed to a legal person. I don't know how is it in the USA but I expect it will be similar or even more relaxed (if such a thing is possible).

If you want to create a legal person, you have to register it, if I recall correctly, at the office of "Registrar of Companies." I don't know if that applies to the USA as well but this is how they taught us it was in the UK.
Before that, you have to make the contract which is the basis for your new legal person, including the statutes which limit in the USA what the legal person can and can't do.

I suggest you hire a lawyer or read some books on the subject, since I do not know what types of legal persons are permissible in the USA, but I expect the founding system to be quite free.

but even if we do this in america your still under american law look at the indiens they have tribal law but if you look at the laws it's the same as american law. its just if you get cought doing something bad on there land your held under there courts. and sent to american jails.

and most of there income is form casinos like in california were californians can't make a casino becouse gambaling is illegal but the loophole a  indien tribe can on there land but also the state tax's the casino. and everyone that is working the tables are californians that are not part of the tribe and are payed in american dollers.

LOL, i'm not considering defecting from the USA and starting a commune. I'm just thinking about founding a "society". I haven't even decided on a name yet. Just the preliminary info gathering stage over here.

For the sake of argument, let's say I want to start "The Guitar Tuners Society" Who would I contact in order to formally establish "The Guitar Tuners Society"? A lawyer? a Government official? Nobody, build it and they will come?

Gary Franchi, founder of the Lone Lantern Society of America was on AJ's show today. Gary Franchi knows how to found a society. I don't. Do any of you?

My society doesn't have a name, you can call it whatever you want.

There are no rules or regulations.

There are no leaders, only the contrast of the weak and the strong.

You may already be a member.

Now that should give everyone a clue as to how FREE we are -
fill out a form?
Ya mean ask permission from the government?!

And you call that free!?

With real freedom you don't have to fill out a form and get permission from the government to wipe your *ss, or anything else!!!

A land without money and a land without tax. A land without sheriffs and a land with out elections.

A land with OUT perimeters, a land with OUT militia force!

The leader walks behind the faces of those who shout.
