A Travis County Constable used his Taser gun on a 72-year-old great grandmother after she refused to sign a speeding ticket.

The cop claims he was forced to defend himself because Kathryn Winkfein “got violent” in her refusal to sign the ticket.

The cop said she also used profanity, making him fear for his life.

Winkfein told an Austin news crew in the above video that the entire report was based on lies.

A dashboard camera which recorded the incident will eventually tell the truth. It is being reviewed by the county attorney.

Regardless of what the video shows, there is no law against refusing to sign a speeding ticket in Texas, according to Civil Liberties Examiner J.D. Tuccille.

And it is highly questionable why a deputy would resort to using a Taser on an elderly woman who has never been arrested, especially considering there is a higher risk of killing an elderly person.

Last year, Jared Massey of Utah won a $40,000 settlement after the following video emerged showing how he was Tasered for refusing to sign a speeding ticket.

That's absolutely disgusting.
He's twice her size and half her age.
I'd like to run into him off duty.
Wouldn't need a Tazer to give him what he needs either.

We could do with a small sub-section on the forum for Police Brutality, especially Tazing.

That made me very, very angry.

That's just sick. That old lady did nothing threatening. But don't worry, all the sheep who sit in a daze and watch "Cops" marathons will think it's all just hunky-dory

She was being a real bitch, but a guy his size should have been able to control her with soft hand control techniques. But yet he went straight for the damn taser. But he went from 0 to contempt of cop in 2 seconds flat. He lost his cool, and the result was that sickening display, followed by that Sgvt, Major defending his deputy. Thats just sick.

The resistance starts here. Unfortunately, the entire thing is moving beyond the intellectual infowar. I vow I will not make an overt rush at violent authority, until authority makes it's violent rush at me and you. I will not falter, I will not die in this course. For that is how they win.

Man, he was as professional as a soccer hooligan on 13 beers.

He was SHOVING her. She got angry. He tased her. Don't they train professional cops in 'talk down' anymore?

Does Sarge just pat his f**kin' taser and go, "Men, remember, this is your non-lethal jurisdiction. If they so much as look at you, give it to 'em HARD."

New Officer: but Sarge, what if it's a little kid, you know, with a toy gun, goin' Kapow, Kapow? (his newbie buddies grin nervously)
Sarge: Read my lips, newbie. You taser that little brat or I'll personally take yer f**kin' badge.
New Officer: shucks, what if my grandmomma gives me some lip? (his newbie buddies are silent, docile)
Sarge: Tase that old coot until her fat heart fail - grandmammies never did no good to nobody. Boys, get taserin'. Uncle Sam is on your side.

Is that how police briefings go these days?
