Recently, on the History Channel, was aired another video in the "Histories Mysteries" series titled "Sodom and Gomorrah." The video features the ancient Biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and presents information from skeptics who doubt the Bible's accuracy concerning what led to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. One of the main skeptics, Dr. Carole Fontaine, a feminist theologian and faculty director at Andover Newton Theological School, states...
"We sometimes find when we look at Bible stories that people think they know what they say. When we look more closely we sometimes find that the text is ambivalent."
Ambivalent? According to Dr. Fontaine, the greatest sin of the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah may have been their lack of hospitality towards guests visiting their city, and not sexual deviance (never mind the mob of queers about to break down lot's front door and rape the guests - Genesis 19:4-9). Unbelievably, Fontaine claims that homosexuality in Sodom and Gomorrah may not have been the sin which brought God's judgment.
God Destroyed Sodom Because of Fornication and Homosexuality
However, miss Fontaine needs to look at the entire Word of God, not just Genesis. The Bible plainly states in the New Testament, in Jude 1:7...
"Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange (Greek: different, other) flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."
I don't see any mention of "hospitality" miss Fontaine, but I do see "fornication" and "going after strange flesh." The term "going after strange flesh" is explained to us in Proverbs 7:5 and Romans 1:26-27...
"That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words."
"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."
"Going after strange flesh" in the Bible is not necessarily homosexuality, as we are warned about the "strange" adulterous woman in Proverb 5:20; 7:5; but, the context of Jude 1:7 clearly implies homosexuality. "Going after strange flesh" means going after flesh "different" than what is rightfully ours to claim (our spouse's body -1st Corinthians 7:4). Notice that Jude mentions both "fornication" and "going after strange flesh." Obviously, Sodom's sins were more than fornication, and certainly more than a "lack of hospitality." The "strange" flesh simply refers to that which is forbidden by God for us to have, it is flesh outside the bounds of God's laws; hence, the term "sexual deviance" (to deviate from what is acceptable to God).
Sayville, New York; Las Vegas, Nevada: Modern Sodom & Gomorrah
We also read in 2nd Peter 2:6,7...
"And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked."
The "filthy conversation" of the wicked, literally means, the "filthy manner of life" of the wicked. The Greek noun for "conversation" is "anastrophe," which means, "behavior." Hence, Sodom and Gomorrah were saturated with sexual deviance, filthy behavior, and every form of godlessness known to mankind. This today could be likened to Sayville, New York--a town so gay that it is commonly referred to as "Gayville," or of "Sin City" Las Vegas in Nevada.

It is most rampant in the village on summer weekends when rich homosexuals come out to Sayville to visit Fire Island. Young male college students supplement their incomes by performing trick with these rich men in exchange for cash. Weekend sightings of the cast of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" is common in Sayville. Actor Harvey Fierstein (Pictured with with Rod Stewart) is often seen in Sayville on his way to Cherry Grove. Because he is gay, he is extremely popular in Sayville and wherever he goes he draws huge crowds in the village. He is the star of the hit Broadway Musical where he plays a girl's mother. According to Ruth E. Harlow in her article Let's Leave No Child Behind (7/06/2001) in the Lambda Legal, she says that Sayville had the "first full-fledged prom for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender high school students in suburbia – specifically, Sayville, New York." According to the gay organization, LIGALY, Sayville hosted “America’s first-ever full-fledged suburban gay prom.” Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY) will host its second annual gay prom. The event, entitled “The LIGALY Prom - Pride Gala 2002,” will be held on June 7, 2002 at the Island Hills Golf and Country Club in Sayville, NY," which was publicized in their May 28, 2002 press release. Sayville has truly earned the title of "Gayville," a modern-day Sodom awaiting God's judgment.
Las Vegas mocks God by calling their town "Sin City," which is found on their official Chamber of Commerce website at
http://www.sincitychamberofcommerce.com. Their official slogan is "...where business is pleasure." The clear implication is sexual pleasure. The godless website goes on to say in the section, "Sin City For Gays"...
"Gay Las Vegas. The Sin City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to support the Gay and Lesbian Community. We believe everyone enjoys the freedom to live the lifestyle they choose."
In lieu of such wickedness, do you think God is going to bless America? The Las Vegas--Sin City Chamber of Commerce website, mocks God, even promoting legalized prostitution at the "Chicken Ranch" and the "Wild Kat Ranch" outside of Las Vegas. The Sin City Chamber of Commerce website is decorated with serpents, serpents seducing women, and a red apple with a bite taken out of it. Thus, mocking the Biblical account of Eve being seduced by Satan; and her sinning, by eating of the forbidden fruit. The website promotes several strip joints, escort services, and links to pornography. This is Las Vegas' OFFICIAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE! Do you think God is pleased by such wickedness? I recall speaking with a Lutheran pastor from Bensenville, Illinois a couple years back. He told me that he had organized a bus trip to Las Vegas with his church members and friends. This "pastor" collected the money, made all the arrangements, drove the bus, and took his congregation to SIN CITY! Talk about apostasy!!! I would NEVER bring anyone to such a godless place as SIN CITY Las Vegas!
Europe and America are Becoming a Giant Sodom and Gomorrah!
Even if we were to lay aside the Word of God for a moment, common sense should tell us what Sodom was like. Just look at the world today, especially America and Europe! The United States today is MUCH worse than Sodom! Sodom didn't have the magazines, photos, videos, or internet to produce pornography. Yet God reigned down fire and brimstone in fierce judgment upon Sodom and Gomorrah! God's judgment upon America will be infinitely greater than that which fell upon Sodom. Hell will be hot! People nowadays are so indifferent concerning sin that they fail to realize just how wicked society has become. Witchcraft is more popular than ever in America and Europe because of the Hellishness of Harry Potter. Even the U.S. Navy recognizes Wicca witchcraft as a legitimate religion. The U.S. accounts for 25% of the world's child-sex tourism. Hollywood produces the most lascivious, adulterous, murderous, damnable movies on earth. Walt Disney is controlled by Satan, producing godless movies which brainwash children with rock music, New Age philosophies, feminism, and witchcraft. Take a look at the abominable NARNIA. Americans have idly sat back and allowed 50,000,000 babies to be murdered through abortion. Now the body parts are even being sold. Nevada brags of legalized prostitution. Las Vegas is so wicked that they even mock God by calling their town "Sin City." The Judgment Upon Sodom and Gomorrah Represents the Lake of Fire
What in the world would lead any professed "theologian," such as Carole Fontaine, to believe that things were any different in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah? Do you actually expect us to believe that homosexuality wasn't being practiced in Sodom? Jude 1:7 plainly tells us that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of their sexual sins. We read in Genesis 13:13, "But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly." God said that the men of Sodom were sinners EXCEEDINGLY! Surely a person does not need a degree in theology, to know that the word EXCEEDINGLY meant that these men of Sodom were rotten to the core. These weren't petty criminals. Genesis 19:4-9 tells us about two angels who were sent by God to deliver Lot, and his family, out of Sodom. The angels came in the appearance of regular men. The homosexuals in the city of Sodom wanted to rape the two visitors. In fact, Verse 4 tells us that ALL the men of Sodom were outside their door. It is obvious to anyone who believes the Word of God, that Sodom was predominantly homosexual, and these homosexuals were violent (as is often the case today). You are wrong Dr. Fontaine! We read in both 2nd peter 2:6 and Jude 1:7 that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah as an EXAMPLE of what is going to happen to all the wicked. Since we don't see fire and brimstone coming out of the sky today, it is obvious that the Scriptures are referring to the Lake of Fire. 2nd Thessalonians 1:8 supports this, "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." We read about the Lake of Fire in Revelation 20:11-15. This will be the eternal damnation of all those who die in their sins, never having been born-again in Christ Jesus (John 3:3).
Carole Fontaine's Unscholarly Rubbish
Carole Fontaine also states in the "Sodom and Gomorrah" video...
"Once science entered into the world it was no longer so easy to believe the miracles of the Bible so there has a been a desire, I think, to be prove them to be true and I think that is exactly what drives people out into the Dead Sea region to try to dig up ancient legends like Sodom and Gomorrah." (emphasis added)
Folks, this is a professed "theologian" at Andover Newton Theological School who supposedly studies about God. Ironically, she does NOT believe the Word of God. Science? Scientists can't even predict the weather with certainty. There is no scientific evidence against the Bible. Archeologists have verified that the two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah did exist, and were destroyed by some cataclysmic event (which is documented in the same "Sodom and Gomorrah" video). Then the video goes on to suggest that perhaps an invading enemy burned Sodom and Gomorrah instead of God. Why is it so hard to accept the Word of God miss Fontaine? It is wicked for anyone, in the name of theology, to attempt to twist and change the Word of God to justify homosexuality. Homosexuality is an abominable wicked sin unto God. God hates homosexuality; but he loves all sinners--so much that He sent His only begotten Son into the world to die for our sins (John 3:16).
Again, Dr. Fontaine states...

Miss Fontaine may claim that Genesis is "ambivalent," but 2nd Peter 2:6 and Jude 1:7 surely aren't. I also don't believe that any honest student of the Bible could ever view the Book of Genesis as "ambivalent" (or uncertain). Fontaine claims that the sin of Sodom was a failure to be hospitable, and not sexual deviance. Evidently she is either homosexual herself or in favor of the homosexuals. You cannot show me one Scripture in the entire Bible which even hints that God destroyed Sodom because they weren't cordial and generous to others. Fontaine's idea is ludicrous. To overlook an angry mob of homosexuals who are ready to break someone's front door down and rape them, is the height of ignorance or wicked tampering with the Bible. Miss Fontaine claims their great sin was a "lack of hospitality." No miss Fontaine, if it weren't for the angels being protected, the sins of Sodom's men would have been numerous: homosexuality, aggravated assault, battery, rape, sodomy, kidnapping, intent to harm, breaking an entry, disturbing the peace, verbal assault, threatening, mob action, brutality, and possibly even murder. I hardly think a lesson in being hospitable would have cured their demons. Do you think these were the only victims of these vicious homosexuals? Thankfully the angels had the power to escape. One can only imagine how many innocent people were raped, sodomized by these cut-throat monstrous homosexuals. No wonder God destroyed them all.
The History Channel verses God's Word
The "Histories Mysteries" narrator goes onto say...
"Contributing to the belief that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah may be more fable than fact is the predominance of similar tales from folklore."
"After close study of the Sodom and Gomorrah story, in Genesis, many scholars have come to doubt its true intent was to condemn sexual deviance."
You never would have read such a foolish statement years back when everyone knew that God created Adam and Eve; not Adam and Steve. In the modern apostate condition of the church, it is not surprising that professed "Theologians" would try to condone homosexuality with the Bible. Of course, these are NOT true Christians; but rather, imposters! The New International Version (NIV) of the Bible completely removes the word "sodomite" from the Bible. It shouldn't come as a surprise that at least two of the literary critics on the review board of the NIV were openly homosexual, including the chairman of the Old Testament committee, Dr. Marten Woudstra. Should it be surprising to us that homosexuals would want to attack the truthful account of Sodom and Gomorrah, in an attempt to lessen the evils of homosexuality? Not at all, for this is how Satan deceitfully works. Yet, unbelievably, most believers today proudly display their NIV perverted Bibles for everyone to see. How could ANY professed "Christian" defend the NIV? Do you know who owns Zondervan publishers? Harper Collins! Yes, that's right, Harper Collins own Zondervan, the company which publishes the NIV. Did you know that Harper Collins also publishes "The Satanic Bible," and "The Joys of Gay Sex!" It's a mockery to God Almighty!!!
The History Channel video speaks of "tales from folklore," claiming that there are other legends and fables from history which can be compared to the Biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah. Again, they're trying to discredit the Word of God. There is a vast difference between ancient folklore and the actual cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, which scientists have PROVEN to have been destroyed simultaneously by some cataclysmic event (just as the Bible declares). We know God sent messengers to Sodom to rescue Lot. The History Channel goes on to claim that some "scholars" believe that the cities supposedly destroyed by God were destroyed via mere human neglect. But they don't mention the names of any of these "scholars." Who are these scholars? No doubt there was wickedness in many forms in Sodom and Gomorrah; but, that doesn't lessen the evils of homosexuality.
Guess Who Owns the History Channel?
Now I'm going to shock you, and you should be shocked. Sin should always shock us! I am leery of the professed Christian who is not shocked concerning sin. After doing some research, I was surprised to find out that Walt Disney owns hundreds of TV, radio, magazine, cable, publishing, and internet outlets. Interestingly, Walt Disney also owns the History Channel. Did you know that the Walt Disney corporation is working relentlessly to promote acceptance of homosexuality? And they have billions of dollars and hundreds of media outlets to do it! Don't believe me, take a look at

Every June since 1991, homosexuals numbering up to 100,000 have descended upon Walt Disney World for the Gay Day's event, which is not sponsored by the Walt Disney Company but is organized with the entertainment giant's tacit approval, according to the Christian Action Network (CAN).
"I want to point out that this event is not called 'Gay Days in Orlando,' it's called 'Gay Days at Walt Disney World,'" CAN President Martin Mawyer said. "And as such, we believe Disney is responsible for all the activity that takes place under the umbrella of this event, whether it takes place on Disney property or off Disney property. But as you can see, there is plenty of offensive homosexual activity taking place within the Disney theme parks that would shock most parents and their small children."- (Martin Mawyer, director, Christian Action Network)

Homosexuals are invited every year to spend the first weekend in June at Disney World. Michael Eisner, the Jewish head of Disney, provides homos with special discounts at the Marriott Courtyard in the Disney Village and at the Dolphin and Swan hotels. Eisner even set aside Pleasure Island in the middle of the theme park exclusively for homos this past June 5th - 9th. Some 60,000 homos from throughout the nation attended and the orgy continued all night long. Shocked tourists with children reported seeing men kissing men and fondling one another in public! Baptist Convention delegate Lisa Kinney of Largo, Fl., drew applause when she said: "The boycott affirms to the world that we love Jesus more than we love entertainment. If we must turn off our TVs, so be it., It's no great loss. We can't participate in Disney's godlessness." Wiley Drake of Buena Park, Ca., said that he took his three children to Disney last June and, "we were shocked to see men in drag French kissing each other in front of our children." Convention official, Richard Lamb, said: "Now Disney is going to find out just how many regiments and just how many divisions of Godly people the Southern Baptists have!"

Tragically, the SBC dipped their sails, lifting their ban on Walt Disney in 2005. Walt Disney openly admits that they never changed one policy due to pressure from the SBC. It is sickening! No professed Christian should ever go to Disney World, watch their movies, or have anything to do with such a godless company. It doesn't surprise me that the same company (Disney) who would host an annual GAY DAY convention, would also produce a video ("Sodom and Gomorrah") which tries to discredit the Word of God; featuring a feminist theologian who claims that the inhabitants of Sodom were not judged for their sexual deviance. Sadly, the American Family Association, and James Dobson's Focus On The Family, also lifted their bans against Disney in 2005. It is tragic!
In Disney's woeful new series, Desperate Housewives, God is utterly mocked. America has become worse than the godless Old Testament cities of Sodom and Gomorrah! These two cities were so wicked that God reigned down fire and Brimstone upon them as an EXAMPLE (Jude 1:7) of what would happen to those who live ungodly (1st Thessalonians 1:8, the Lake of Fire). Everywhere we turn nowadays, we are surrounded by sin, and people who love to watch others commit sin (Romans 1:32).
"What many critics of the show will probably point to, however, is the amount of sex. And make no mistake, there is plenty of that. Beyond the fact that all of the housewives are attractive, as author Myrna Blyth, former editor of Ladies Home Journal, points out, 'At least once an episode one of the housewives manages to turn up in Victoria’s Secret underwear.'
There is the seemingly required club scene, complete with gyrating, minimally-clad dancers; wives seducing their husbands; a prostitute who services a straying husband, Rex, who has a fancy for bondage; the fornication between Susan and handsome, single neighbor Mike; and the adultery between Gabrielle and John.
