Autopsies are being performed today on the bodies of former state Sen. Nancy Schaefer and her husband, who were found shot to death Friday afternoon in an apparent murder-suicide at their Habersham County home.

Sheriff Joey Terrell said this morning that authorities believe they know who the shooter was, but wanted to wait until the autopsies are completed before releasing that information.

Terrell said the couple's daughter, who lives in the same gated community as the Schaefers, discovered their bodies in a bedroom about 5:30 p.m. Friday. He said a handgun was used in the shootings and was found near the bodies.

Several notes were left behind, but Terrell declined to say who wrote them.

While State Sen. Don Thomas of Dalton said this morning he believed that Bruce Schafer had been ill, the sheriff said the couple's daughter had no knowledge of any serious illness affecting him.

A prominent conservative Republican, Schaefer, 75, was known as a vocal opponent of abortion and same-sex marriage. She was elected to the state Senate in 2004 and served two terms, but she made several unsuccessful bids for public office prior to that.

State Rep. Rick Austin, whose district includes Habersham County, announced Schaefer's death to a packed House chamber around 7:30 p.m. Friday and led lawmakers in a moment of silence.

Hall County legislators who had worked with Schaefer said they were saddened by the news.

"I had the privilege of serving with Nancy for several years in the State Senate and appreciated her kind heart and desire to serve the people of Georgia well," said Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle. "Nita and I will be praying for the entire Shaefer family and ask that the Lord will provide them with peace that passes all understanding during this difficult time."

"The state of Georgia has lost two fine God-fearing people," said state Rep. James Mills, R-Chestnut Mountain. "We should all pray for the family."

Rep. Doug Collins, R-Gainesville, said he served with Schaefer in his first term in the House. Because they served in adjoining districts, they often attended meetings together on White County issues, he said.

Collins said Schaefer served her district honorably.

"I always thought her to be an honest person who did what she thought was right," Collins said. "It's just a real sad event."

Schaefer, who has been active in conservative Christian causes for many years, was president of Family Concerns, a Christian organization.

She was elected in 2004 after federally redrawn legislative districts created an open seat in the 50th District. She defeated two Republican challengers and a Democrat to win the seat.

Prior to that, Schaefer ran for mayor of Atlanta in 1993, was the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor in 1994 and finished third in the GOP race for governor in 1998.

Before seeking re-election in 2008, she considered a challenge to Brown for the congressional seat. She later chose to run for re-election, but lost in the Republican primary to eventual winner Jim Butterworth.

She once hosted a daily commentary show on WNIV-AM, an Atlanta Christian radio station, according to her state Senate biography.

She was a former first vice president of the Georgia Baptist Convention, a frequent speaker to churches of all denominations, a speaker to civic and political organizations and a frequent guest on radio and local and national television programs.

In 2001, she became the first female trustee of Toccoa Falls College.

She and her husband lived in Atlanta for 35 years before relocating to Habersham County.

The 50th District, which she served, includes Habersham, Rabun, Towns, Stephens, Banks, Franklin, Hart and a portion of White counties.

Shaefer and her husband had five children and 13 grandchildren.

Few details were available Saturday, the day after the couple's bodies were found. It could be weeks before autopsy results are available, Habersham county Coroner Kasey McEntire told the AJC Saturday.

Meanwhile, tributes and condolences continued to pour in from lawmakers and others.

"I had the privilege of serving with Nancy for several years in the State Senate and appreciated her kind heart and desire to serve the people of Georgia well. Nita and I will be praying for the entire Schaefer family and ask that the Lord will provide them with peace that passes all understanding during this difficult time,” Lt. Governor Casey Cagle said in a statement.

GBI spokesman John Bankhead told the AJC there will be a thorough investigation into what happened. He could not say who might have been the shooter. Six GBI agents and two crime scene technicians were at the scene of the Schaefer home in Habersham County Friday night.

An announcement was made around 7:30 p.m. Friday on the floor of the Georgia General Assembly.

Sen. Don Thomas, a physician and who said he knew the couple well,  said he believed Bruce Schaefer, 74, had cancer.

“In those moments, you are not at your complete sanity," said Thomas, of Dalton. "Some people figure the best way is to end it for both of you. They were married for so long. Loved each other so much. When you see somebody that you love so much, every now and then, you think the best way out of it is to go and be with the Lord. ”

Schaefer, a former Atlanta mayoral candidate and two-term senator, was beaten by Habersham County Commission Chairman Jim Butterworth in a north Georgia Republican runoff in 2008.

“This news hits the hearts of many in our community and I want to be among the first to express my deepest condolences to the family of Nancy and Bruce Schaefer. The Schaefer’s were a blessing to many who were privileged to know them," Butterworth said in a statement.

Rep. Rick Austin made the announcement from the house floor of the couple's death before the chamber observed a moment of silence. Austin represents Habersham and White counties, near Schaefer's home.

“Nancy Schaefer was a great lady, and she served Georgia and her constituents with honor and grace,” Austin said.

Neill Herring, a veteran environmental lobbyist, said Schaefer came to symbolize "a period in Georgia history where the Christian right was really in the ascendancy. I almost feel like her defeat in the last election was a sign that that power had began to wane."

Schaefer and her husband were the parents of five children and moved to Habersham County in North Georgia after living in Atlanta for 35 years. The daughter of a North Georgia Superior Court Judge and granddaughter of a state legislator, Schaefer, 73,  entered the public eye in 1985 when she organized a Constitutional Liberties Rally in Atlanta.

The following year, she founded Schaefer Family Concerns, Inc., a nonprofit foundation dedicated to issues such as display of the Ten Commandments in public buildings and opposition to abortion.

She was the Republican nominee for Lt. Governor in 1994. In 1998, she sought the GOP nomination for governor.

According to her state senate biography, she was an eight year Trustee of the National Ethics and Religions Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). She represented Family Concerns and the SBC at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995, the U.N. Conference on Human Settlements in Istanbul, the U.N. Conference on Food in Rome, Italy and the U.N. follow up Conference to Beijing in New York.

She is a former First Vice President of the Georgia Baptist Convention, a frequent speaker to churches of all denominations, a speaker to civic and political organizations, and a frequent guest on radio and local and national television programs across the nation. She was also a Sunday School Teacher.

Nancy Schaefer was chosen as a Gracious Lady of Georgia, served on numerous advisory boards and directorships and in 2001 became the first woman Trustee for Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Georgia.

As a state senator, Schaefer represented the 50th district, including Banks, Franklin, Habersham, Hart, Rabun, Stephens, and Towns Counties, as well as part of White County.

Correspondent MJ Kneiser and the Associated Press contributed to this story.

I find it very hard to believe that a woman with the Christian values she held would ever entertain the thought of committing suicide or even mercy killing.

I also find it hard to believe their only daughter had no idea of the father's illness.

.

There is no doubt in my mind that Senator Nancy Shafer and her husband were killed.  In the video, Mrs. Shaefer stated that these children were being picked up and never to be seen again.  Where are these children?  Are they completely missing or are they being used in the Satanic Rituals that are taking place within our Government.

Former Ga. state senator shot by husband who then shot himself, according to GBI report

http://www.independentmail.com/news/2010/mar/27/former-ga-state-senator-killed-husband-who-then-sh/

TURNERVILLE, GA. -- The ongoing investigation into the deaths of former state Sen. Nancy Schaefer and her husband indicates, according to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation statement, that Bruce Schaefer shot his wife once then turned the gun on himself.

The two were discovered in the bedroom of their home by relatives late Friday afternoon. A gun was found near the body of Bruce Schaefer, and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI are investigating, according to the GBI statement.

Several letters written by Bruce Schaefer to family members were found in the home, including a suicide note, according to the statement.

A GBI medical examiner determined that Nancy Schaefer died from a single gunshot wound to the back, and Bruce Schaefer died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. The investigation so far and the autopsy results from late Saturday afternoon have not uncovered any evidence to indicate the case is anything other than a murder-suicide, according to the statement.

Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell and Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Mike Ayers updated members of the news media about the case just after 12:01 a.m. Saturday — before the GBI released a statement Saturday afternoon. The early morning update took place at Turnerville General Store, just a few miles from where the Schaefers lived in the Orchard, a gated golf community just north of Turnerville.

State Sen. Jim Butterworth released the following statement regarding the situation.

“This news hits the hearts of many in our community, and I want to be among the first to express my deepest condolences to the family of Nancy and Bruce Schaefer,” he said. “The Schaefers were a blessing to many who were privileged to know them. We are reminded that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and as the Schaefer family mourns their loss, they can be assured that Amy and I will keep them in our prayers for many months to come.”

State Sen. Don Thomas told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution he knew the couple well, and that he believed Bruce Schaefer was suffering from cancer.

“In those moments, you are not at your complete sanity,” said Thomas, a physician and Republican from Dalton. “Some people figure the best way is to end it for both of you. They were married for so long, loved each other so much.”

State Rep. Michael Harden said the Schaefers “complemented each other very well.”

They were a happy couple and were always together, said Harden, a Republican who represents District 28, which covers Stephens County and part of Franklin County.

“Whenever you saw one, the other was not too far away,” he said.

Harden said his time in the Georgia Legislature did not overlap with Nancy Schaefer’s, but he had known her and her husband through working with her on a political campaign as early as 2000. Harden asked that people keep in their prayers the Schaefers’ children and grandchildren.

State Sen. Ralph Hudgens, a Republican who represents District 47, which covers part of Elbert County, said Schaefer “was a tremendous advocate for Christian right values and family values and a tireless crusader for those issues.”

The Schaefers were prominent in northeast Georgia.

Nancy Schaefer, 73, represented the 50th District, which includes Stephens County, in the state Senate from 2004 to 2008 before being defeated by Butterworth, a Republican.

She was a conservative known as a vocal opponent of abortion and same-sex marriage.

She moved to Turnerville after more than three decades in Atlanta, where she was a former candidate for mayor.

Since exiting elected politics, she had served as the president of the Georgia Eagle Forum. On that group’s Web site, it states it “will provide the avenue for conservative, pro-life and pro-family citizens/volunteers to actively become involved in the process of self-government and public policy.”

Nancy Schaefer Found Dead: Suicide Conspiracy Murder?

http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original/article_212292307.shtml

Former State Senator Nancy Schaefer and her husband were found shot dead in their Georgia home. Police reported that the couple was both found at what looks like a murder-suicide.

Schaefer, 73, was a powerful Republican that represented North Georgia district twice in her life. Her husband was struggling against cancer at the time and was nearing his end of days. Authorities think it's possible that the couple decided to end their lives together to rid themselves of their daily pains, but the facts aren't adding up.

Authorities say they are investigating the scene as if it were a "murder-suicide" and are not sure what exact action led to their deaths. Police are conducting an investigation to find the exact cause of death. Police did not report any break-ins at the home.

In her last days, she was actively exposing the system of corruption and making the public aware of CPS (Child Protective Services). A government organization that she believes kidnaps children for money. CPS does not have over-sight Schaefer claims; she also claimed that young parents with no money were being targeted. There have been rumors that Schaefer was being targeted and murdered by CPS.

Is this Nancy's last article written?

February 17, 2010 - Are We Targeted for Forced Microchip Implants?

http://www.eagleforumofga.org/articles_and_alerts.php?filter=52

In the state of Georgia, restricting the implantation of human tracking devices failed in 2007, 2008 and HB 38 was tabled in 2009. SB 235 was introduced in 2009. SB 235 and HB 38 require personal consent before a microchip can be implanted in a human. In 2010, SB 235, the Microchip Consent Act, passed the Georgia State Senate 47-2.

SB 235, however, has run into a roadblock as it moves to the House. The majority whip, Rep. Ed Lindsey has the idea that the government should microchip certain groups of people such as prisoners, sex offenders, parolees, illegal aliens, the elderly or those with Alzheimer's disease.

What is Rep. Lindsey looking for, mandatory volunteering? Does he not realize that to microchip people as if they were laboratory animals is dehumanizing? It is a direct violation of their human dignity and their physical integrity. Is he not mindful of the FDA identified health risks, such as cancer, infections and death?

Microchipping is an invasive procedure. Microchipping should never be done without the informed consent of a rational adult person! Think of the billions to be made by corporations pushing for this very, controversial technology!

Employees Get Microchip Implants:

A Cincinnati company is requiring any employee who works in its secure data center to be implanted, according to Liz McIntyre, co-author of "Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan To Track Your Every Move with RFID". The video surveillance company City Watcher.com injected two of its employees in the triceps area of the arm with a verichip, a glass encapsulated RFID, or radio-frequency identification tag. Mandating microchips has begun.

On Wednesday, February 4, 2009, World Net Daily carried the story of a couple in California who were required by law to have their dog implanted with a microchip in order to take him camping. Following the implantation they watched their beloved dog named, Charlie Brown, bleed to death from the procedure. Charlie was implanted with the Radio-Frequency Identification capsule, or RFID.

Forced microchipping, if fully implemented, could open the door to require each and everyone to have implanted in them a radio-frequency identification (RFID) microchip for the purpose of controlling medical care and other data.

The microchip surveillance system for human beings has already been patented and is being produced. It is a threat to your privacy and to your civil liberties.

During confirmation hearings for Justice John Roberts, then Senator Joseph Biden commented, "can a microscopic tag be implanted in a person's body to track his every movement? There's actual discussion about that. You will rule on that - mark my words - before your tenure is over."

Vice President Joe Biden

September 2005

ACTION: Georgia needs to pass SB 235 in 2010 to ban forced microchipping in Georgia.

Four states at present prohibit forced microchip implants. All states need to take action.

Employees have already been microchipped. The line has been crossed. We are already on the slippery slope.

The microchip surveillance system must be defeated in Georgia and prohibited across the U.S. Each state must pass legislation that bans a microchip to be implanted in the body of any man, woman, child or infant. Many citizens have moral and religious objections to such a procedure.

Call the Speaker of the House David Raulson at 404-656-5020 and Majority Leader, Jerry Keen at 404-656-5052 and impress upon them the necessity of passing SB 235 out of committee without Rep. Lindsey's additions, and on to the floor of the House for a vote.

Take Action Today!

They must've figured most people would not connect the dots between her death and CPS, that most people don't understand the links between Child Protective Services and corruption in high places.  In reality, she is getting very close to the heart of the corruption when she attacks CPS.

State Sen. Schaefer withdraws from 10th District race in Georgia

By Elaine Irvin/Special to the Independent-Mail

Published Saturday, April 12, 2008

Clarkesville — Georgia State Sen. Nancy Schaefer, R-Turnerville, has withdrawn her candidacy for the 10th District U.S. Congressional seat held by Dr. Paul Broun of Athens.

Mrs. Schaefer, a Habersham County resident, cited her husband’s health concerns as the reason for her withdrawal from the race.
She has served the 50th District of Georgia for nearly four years. That district includes eight counties: Banks, Franklin, Habersham, Hart, Rabun, Towns, Union and White.

Georgia’s 10th District serves 21 counties, many of them located along the state’s eastern border with South Carolina. They span an area that begins with a portion of Richmond County in the south, to Rabun and Towns counties in the north, and includes a number of middle Georgia counties.

Mrs. Schaefer was the second announced Republican candidate to qualify for the seat, with State Rep. Barry Fleming announcing first. Only one Democratic challenger had qualified when Mrs. Schaefer entered the race: Iraq war veteran Bobby Saxon of Jackson, Ga.

Dr. Broun has held the seat since a closely won special election vacated upon the death of Congressman Charlie Norwood.

Mrs. Schaefer said Friday that she will serve the remainder of her term in Georgia’s 50th District, until the end of 2008. Mrs. Schaefer did not say whether she would endorse a candidate.

Filing officially openings for the position on April 28 and ends on May 2.

Schaefer back in the race for Senate seat in Georgia

Stephens County — State Sen. Nancy Schaefer has had another change of plans.

Schaefer, R-Turnerville, said in a press release issued Thursday mornings that he has decided to run for re-election as the District 50 representative in the Georgia Senate.

Schaefer previously had planned a run for Congress against Rep. Paul Broun, another Republican, and another challenger, Barry Fleming, for the 10th Congressional District seat representing northeast Georgia. But Schaefer backed out as the result of health concerns facing her husband, Bruce.

In her statement Thursday, however, she indicated that they have met with consultants and created a plan to balance his upcoming surgery with her decision to run for re-election to the state Senate.

Terry Rogers and Jim Butterworth, both from Habersham County, have announced they would run for the Republican nomination for Schaefer’s District 50 Seat. Qualifying for Georgia Senate seats, as well as some other elected positions for which the races are partisan, is to take place Monday through Friday.

Family rights advocates mourn death of Nancy Schaefer

Family rights advocates across the country are mourning the death of former Senator Nancy Schaefer.  The bodies of Schaefer and her husband Bruce were found by their daughter Friday.  They were both in the bedroom of their home in Georgia, and each had been shot once.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that The Georgia Bureau of Investigation found a suicide note written by Bruce, who was alledgedly suffering from cancer.  Nancy had been shot in the back and Bruce was shot in the chest.  People who knew Nancy balked at the idea that she committed a murder-suicide, as had been reported earlier, claiming a devout Christian wouldn't do such a thing.

Several people have posted on facebook that they had just spoken with Nancy, some saying they'd recently been with the couple.  Each one saying that everything seemed fine.  Mary Cadei Johnson wrote that she and Nancy had discussed, "the excitement of being able to meet each other in DC this July," adding, "she wanted to help me with a speech for my oldest daughter to give at the [Family Preservation] festival regarding Sibling Alienation."

Conservative Nancy Schaefer gained respect from both conservative and liberal family rights advocates for her bold and brave work exposing the corruption in Child Protection Services (CPS) and the US family courts.  She gave a speech at the World Congress on Families in the Netherlands last year where she described how the US govt. was involved in human trafficking.  View the speech HERE.  Another speech on the subject can be seen in the video below.

Rumors abound that the couple were murdered for her work exposing this corruption, and that it was made to look like a murder-suicide.

CPS Warrior Nancy Schaefer Gunned Down

Infowars.com

March 29, 2010

From the Associated Press:

State investigators say the husband of former state Senator Nancy Schaefer shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. The couple’s bodies were found in their north Georgia home Friday. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation conducted autopsies on the Schaefer’s Saturday—investigators say all evidence points to the deaths as a murder-suicide. The bodies of Nancy and Bruce Schaefer, 73 and 74 years old respectively, were found by their daughter at the couple’s home in Clarkesville. Nancy Schaefer was a two-term state Senator representing Georgia’s 50th district. She lost her seat in 2008. Schaefer was also a candidate for mayor of Atlanta, Georgia lieutenant governor and governor of the state.

The corporate media does not bother to mention that Schaefer exposed the abuses of CPS and the international child sex slavery ring.

Appearing on the Alex Jones Show last May, Schaefer detailed how CPS is involved in child trafficking rings (see video below). After watching Schaefer’s interview with Jones, if you think Schaefer was involved in a suicide pact with her husband, you may also be interested in a famous bridge for sale in Brooklyn.

Nancy Shaefer, conservative activist, killed ex guest on Alex Jones

CLARKESVILLE, Ga. (BP)--Nancy Schaefer, 73, a conservative activist and former officer of the Georgia Baptist Convention, and her husband Bruce, 74, died March 26 of gunshot wounds in their north Georgia home.

A daughter discovered the bodies in the bedroom of their home in Habersham County.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation had ruled the deaths a murder-suicide in which Bruce Schaefer allegedly killed his wife, then himself.

However, at least one friend of the Schaefers has questioned the murder-suicide theory. Garland Favorito, founder of Voters Organized for Trusted Election Results in Georgia (VoterGA), circulated an 11-point, two-page bulletin via the Internet stating it is "more obvious" that the case is a "murder made to look like suicide."

Favorito cited the Christian faith and pro-life beliefs of the Schaeffers and the fact that Nancy Schaeffer had been delving into alleged corruption in family & child services agencies. Favorito's bulletin listed a link to YouTube where Schaeffer had been voicing her various concerns: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=nancy+schaefer&search_type=&aq=f.

The Schaefers were members of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toccoa, where funeral services will be held March 31.

Schaefer served as first vice president of the GBC in 1991 and, on the national level, for eight years as a trustee of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. She has also served as president of the Georgia chapter of the Eagle Forum.

Schaefer lost her Senate seat in 2009 after representing Georgia's 50th district for two terms. She previously had been a candidate for Georgia governor, lieutenant governor and mayor of Atlanta.

In 1986 she founded Schaefer Family Concerns, Inc., a nonprofit foundation dedicated to issues such as display of the Ten Commandments in public buildings and opposition to abortion, according to the Atlanta newspaper. Sadie Fields, who chairs the Georgia Christian Alliance, described Shaefer as "a stalwart of conservative causes in Georgia."

This disgusting behavior is happening all over the world, and it's time all of the scumbags involved were exposed and brought to justice (no matter how high up they go). Maybe her death can find some justice on this issue, for the kids of the world!

Any adults involved in this disgusting behavior, shame on you! There is no one lower than  he who will abuse a child!

The shadow Gov, OK, or call them the circus of pyscos controlling this nation.
They will stop at nothing, murder is a common pratice for these sociopathic degenerATES.

I just finished reading about this fine lady, her courage is admirable, and her conscince was alive and well. That is a threat to the pyscos from a person with a voice. We all know how many human beings have been eliminated for taking a stand against the parasites.

I am sure we all know what would happen to these deviate child molesting bags of shiite if we could get out hands on them.

If you want to know just how inept the GBI is, look up the missing person Allyson Romedy. You'll see.
The resistance starts here. Unfortunately, the entire thing is moving beyond the intellectual infowar. I vow I will not make an overt rush at violent authority, until authority makes it's violent rush at me and you. I will not falter, I will not die in this course. For that is how they win.
