I'm in Charlotte, NC and last week while I was outside washing my car, the census girl came by and asked if she could gps my front door.  I asked her if I had a choice. Her response, "technically yes".  I know they already have me... had Ron Paul signs in the yard from pre primary until after the actual election.  And, of course, I listen to Alex every day and forward information via email to friends and relatives.

Just wanted a thread to allow folks to post as they are GPSed.

S.E. Oklahoma (rural area) -
Just had a census taker come to my gate, didn't want to come into the yard due to my husky being on a cable run there!! Cheesy
Only asked if he had my address correct. Didn't ask about GPS'ing but I saw he had a unit under the pad of D-31 forms he had. (D-31  - USCENSUSBUREAU form)

Plus the box about Respondents that Alex just mentioned.

I would scan the form and post the image, but I'd have to reboot my computer to do so!

Of all places I've been, S.E.Oklahoma would be the last place I would want to be caught trespassing. They take their 2nd ammendment very seriously.

I've seen all kinds of people ( workers and people in suits ) walking up and down the street with hand held "scanners" this week. Also People Working on wires ? Not the regular phone or power companies but what looks to me like private contractors. Who knows what they are doing. The power was shut off for an hour today.

Last year the town of east Syracuse passed a law requiring landlords to have inspectors come once a year at the owners expense .
When they inspected my apartment this year the guy looked like a cop for starters and purposely made me turn on the light ( he said to see if it worked ) but when i turned it on he immediately started scanning the room . He then made a comment about how many fishtanks i had in the house. I thought yep get ready for the " GREEN BRIGADE "

I'm moving soon but laws like that may start up anywhere these days just be aware of it

The census is now a threat. I'm just gonna quit letting these people in my house period.

My dad said the same thing about people in plain white vans working on his power and phone lines. He said there was a whit van, a white suv, and a white station wagon around his townhouse. They were all unmarked and he said that noone had any kind of uniform on. They were climbing the poles and messing with the wires. He said they would leave and come back 30 minutes later and do the smae thing all over again.
I have noticed that they are upgrading all the poles and istalling sensors on the lines for the smart grid getting rolled out but that is actual electrical workers not unmarked contractors...Sounds weird.

I should add that he didn't check any other lights in the house . He was just checking for fire alarms the detector in my bedroom was right above the door so there was no need to ask for the light to be turned on. Just snooping thats all you should have seen him looking at everything but the light.

These were electrical workers today for sure they had spools all over. And t hen the power went out . no warning or anything which ticks me off because 1 i was in the middle of working on something on the computer oops lost. bummer

2 what if i was not home and one of my fishtank filters doesn't restart ? oops lost bummer

peace

It just occurred to me - maybe the reason he didn't ask any questions was the "Ron Paul 2008" sticker on my front door! (Which can be seen from my gate) He must of already known what my answers would be!  Cheesy Cheesy
