Wouldn't reading a book be the exact same thing as..let's say, reading text on a webpage?  In fact, when someone says 'book', they usually mean fiction (yes, it's true).  So reading fantasy when you could be reading the news just doesn't seem as productive.  Face it, books are dying out.  Those are for old people and professors who just can't face the fact that they too are a dying breed.
