Texas - Perry to have private meeting with ministers
« on: April 23, 2009, 10:12:00 AM »
"AUSTIN — Behind a hotel ballroom’s closed doors Thursday, some of Texas’ most conservative Christian ministers will have exclusive access to Gov. Rick Perry and other top elected Republican officials so pastors can “engage our leaders on behalf of Texas families and our God.”

The Texas Pastor Council event follows closely on the heels of Perry’s rallying with anti-tax activists to foment states’ rights and to openly talk about the danger of the union dissolving..."

Recruiting more clergy response team members?  Nothing Perry does is without malice.

Romans 13 in full effect!
All eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. The general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately

Romans 13 in full effect!
1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher liberty. For there is no liberty but of God: the liberties that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the liberty, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the liberty? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same.” Romans 13: 1,3

Perry, Dewhurst, Abbott go behind closed doors with ministers
The Texas Pastor Council, a gathering of fundamentalist Christian ministers, is set to meet behind closed doors Thursday with Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, Attorney General Greg Abbott, Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson and Texas Supreme Court Justice Dale Wainwright...To get an idea of what the meeting is about, we pulled this off the U.S. Pastor Council's Web site:"

Behind closed doors?  No transparency?  Hmm, what do they have to hide?

My grandmother said that Rick Scarbrough is really "good", so everything's just fine, nothing to see here. I asked her what she thought about it being a closed-door meeting, and she said, "well, they're just talking about how Texas needs to stay a christian state"....

Ok, mamaw...yeah, that's it. That's why they don't want anyone to listen in. Ok.
