I don't know... reading about things she's said in the past - given that she's willing to take a risk is challenging the mainstream portrayal of things - I wonder if she just isn't a little bit dizzy and reactionary. Maybe she saw a limited set of pictures/videos - perhaps (if they were compiled by MSNBC) they mainly portrayed racist posters etc., and since she's not a very careful thinker, she reacted to it thinking that it was ALL the teaparty people were about.  Her comments were so stupid and obviously ill-considered (even for Janeane) that I think she was just out of her mind. She's not a journalist, so she isn't 'expected' to be fair and unbiased - she can be as stupid as she wants.

Olbermann, on the other hand, was totally out of line for not taking exception to her bullshit.

Here's the thing... this is the news media and their irresponsible journalism again!  This is why there is an Information War in this country.  The mainstream press/media/television like to come up with ways to make news... EVEN IF IT ISN'T NEWS!  Jeneane Garofolo is the last person I want to hear discuss politics.  She's an actress, and a very substandard one to say the least.  She has no background in politics or government for that matter.  People like Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and even Rush Limbaugh do what they can to MAKE a story.  It looks to me as though whoever was sent out to get a story on the Tea Party had to find someone in the crowd who disagreed with what these people were doing.  Well, they couldn't find one person!  So what happens?  Well we have one news reporter from CNN who started bashing one of the protesters at the tea party, then you had Keith Olbermann talking to Ms. Garofolo and telling her to disagree, then you had AC 360 making cute jokes about how funny these people are protesting our government and they're a bunch of "tea-baggers".  They couldn't find anyone in the general public who disagreed with these protesters.  Boy, the news media must really be in a panic to try and come up with such irresponsible garbage!
