But think of all the exposure the Fed is finally getting, and how many more people are waking up daily! They can't stop this train. It is out of the station and at full speed.

The Congressmen who don't support this bill should lose their jobs in 2010. I also think their pensions should be ripped from them, like what has happened to so many citizens. It's time to bring these arrogant failures down to earth, and only losing their jobs and pensions would get their attention. WE ARE SICK OF CONGRESSMEN WHO THINK THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW! NO MORE CHANCES! IF YOU DON'T SHOW US YOU SUPPORT US BY SUPPORTING THIS BILL, THEN YOUR DAYS IN CONGRESS NEED TO BE OVER.

ARE YOU LISTENING CONGRESS?

You better be listening this time BECAUSE YOUR JOB IS AT STAKE! If you don't Co-Sponsor this bill, help it get to the floor,AND ALSO VOTE FOR IT WHEN IT COMES TO THE FLOOR, then you can say bye bye to your cushy jobs!

The American people are sick of you listening to (and some of you complicit with) the NWO ELITE BANKERS, but not to WE THE PEOPLE who you are supposed to serve! We will no longer tolerate your weak-mindedness and spineless behavior.

CONGRESSMEN - You best find a backbone before 2010 and get on the right side of things, or you will also be UNEMPLOYED!
Angry

Those who have STILL NOT CO-SPONSORED this bill and who should be the first on the list to become unemployed: (Who do they really serve?)

I prefer my floating voter status but it's certainly tempting to register as a Libertarian. Though thankfully we also have UKIP, and the Lib Dems are probably a little worried right now (lolo @ the crappy Greens).

Congressman Paul: Millions Of Americans Have Had Enough Of The Fed

Push to audit secretive controllers picks up pace

Steve Watson
Infowars.net
Thursday, July 30, 2009

Congressman Paul: Millions Of Americans Have Had Enough Of The Fed 300709RP Texas Congressman Ron Paul, the driving force behind HR 1207, legislation that would see an audit of the Federal Reserve, joined Alex Jones live on air yesterday to provide a short update on the progress of the bill.

“I think it’s rather amazing,” the Congressman told listeners, “a year or two ago I imagine very few people even thought about the Federal Reserve.”

“But I think because of the economic crisis, because of the blundering with TARP funds, when the American people said we need to know what you guys are doing with and how you’re wasting the money, we saw an opening that we could call attention to about what kind of shenanigans has been going on at the Federal Reserve.” Paul commented.

The Federal Reserve Transparency Act now has 279 co-sponsors in the House and 20 in the Senate, meaning that more than 64% of the House of Representatives is already co-sponsoring the bill.

“There’s a lot more yet to come.” Congressman Paul said. “We need to know what they are doing, that’s why our audit bill is so important, but eventually though we need a sound monetary system, and I think that if we continue with our progress, hopefully we’ll reach that point some day.

There is strong bipartisan support for the bill with both Republicans and Democrats getting behind the legislation.

In addition, recent polls conducted by Gallup and Rasmussen have found that a vast majority of the public are suspicious of the Federal Reserve, with 75% in favour of an audit.

“The new survey finds that an overwhelming majority of Americans in every demographic category – including age, gender, political affiliation, race and income – disagree with Bernanke and favor auditing the Fed to make its secretive deliberations public.” Rasmussen writes.

“The Fed feels so much on the defense that they send the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board out to hold town hall meetings.” Congressman Paul told listeners, chuckling. “That is hilarious.”

Paul spoke of bigger challenges to come.

“The dollar crisis will be a ten times bigger event than the financial collapse, and then the big deal will be which way are we going to go. Are we going to say as Americans that we had a taste of freedom, we want our freedom back? Or are we going to be complacent and the majority of people say ‘yes let the government do whatever they want, they take care of us, we trust the government’?”

“Right now in Washington everybody is still pushing more government.” Paul told listeners. “Just look at what Obama is doing with more war, more spending, more borrowing, more socialized medicine, more cap and trade, more taxes. But when I go home or go around the country or talk on radio shows, I find there’s not tens of thousands but literally millions of people who understand exactly what is going on and they’ve had enough.”

“We have truth on our side, the absurdity that they can control us forever by just printing money and claiming that they will always have wealth by printing money is so absurd that the people realise. Since we have honest money, truth, limited government and freedom on our side, if we don’t win there’s something awfully wrong.” Paul said.

The Congressman also warned, however, that the Obama administration has the wherewithal to use staged events to their advantage in order to dissolve growing public dissent.

“It may be an accident that they play on or blow up, or react to, so it doesn’t necessarily have to be absolutely contrived. They may have an accidental confrontation or sometimes they’ll just go out and something gets blown up and this will incite the people.” Paul urged.

“I don’t have any immediate insights, but I’m always on the alert and vigilant… If there isn’t enough fear in the hearts of the people, they will create the fear because people succumb and they give up their liberties when they are very fearful.” he commented.

75% Favor Auditing The Fed

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

So much for the ongoing secrecy of the nation’s independent central banking system. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 75% of Americans favor auditing the Federal Reserve and making the results available to the public.

Just nine percent (9%) of adults think that’s a bad idea and oppose it. Fifteen percent (15%) aren’t sure.
Over half the members of the House now support a bill giving the Government Accounting Office, Congress’ investigative agency, the authorization to audit the books of the Federal Reserve Board.

Support for the bill has grown now that the Obama administration is proposing to give the Fed greater economic regulatory powers. The Fed which sets U.S. monetary policy was created as an independent agency to keep it free of politically-motivated interference.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke in a town forum filmed on Sunday which is airing this week on PBS stations said he is strongly opposed to the audit legislation. “I don’t think the American people want Congress running monetary policy,” he said. Howard Rich addressed this issue in a recent commentary and concluded it was important to locate the “trillions of dollars” the Fed has spent over the last year-and-a-half.

The new survey finds that an overwhelming majority of Americans in every demographic category – including age, gender, political affiliation, race and income – disagree with Bernanke and favor auditing the Fed to make its secretive deliberations public.

290 = super majority, can overturn a veto threat

300 = fake internet coupons for a free beer from me as kind of a group acknowledgement thingy

400 = overwhelming majority, but it looks like the way the House of Reps works is that the speaker has an insane amount of power (I never knew this until now) and is the only person that can allow a vote no matter how many cosponsors

Bernanke explains Fed’s new openness

The Financial Times London
By Edward Luce in Washington
Published: July 30 2009 19:19 | Last updated: July 30 2009 21:41

Ben Bernanke has explained his decision to turn the normally secretive US Federal Reserve into something of an open house, saying his unusually large number of recent public appearances are the result of the “extraordinary” times the country faces.

The Fed chairman has turned up at everything from a 60 Minutes television interview to a Kansas City town hall session over the past few weeks, prompting some to wonder if he is trying to ensure he is reappointed when his four-year term ends in January.

However, Mr Bernanke said he was answering a clear public need. “Normally Fed chairmen don’t do this kind of thing because we want to avoid causing near-term market volatility as people try to anticipate our next FOMC [federal open markets committee] meeting,” he told the Financial Times this week.

“But this is an extraordinary period. We want to answer the questions we know people have about what hit them in this economic crisis, what the Fed is doing about it and how we expect economic developments to play out.”

The Fed’s new openness is well timed. This week, as the debate continues over the bank’s role in the financial crisis and proposed prudential powers, Gallup showed it is held in lower esteem than the Internal Revenue Service.

More seriously, there is a populist headwind in Congress among some lawmakers who want to remove the Fed’s monetary independence.

Cynics believe Mr Bernanke is using this public relations outreach to ensure he is reappointed next January. But Mr Bernanke says the goal is to educate the public about what the Fed does at a time when it keeps getting caught in the crossfire over its role in the crisis and its future prudential powers. The first question Mr Bernanke received last Sunday was from a social worker who wanted to know what the Fed actually did. The softly spoken chairman told another questioner that he did not wish to be the “chairman who presided over the second Great Depression”.

One bill, backed by Ron Paul, the maverick Republican, has 250 co-sponsors and would, in the Fed’s view, rob it of autonomy by giving auditors the right to look at its monetary policy decisions.

As a result, since January Mr Bernanke has made himself available to Capitol Hill, giving 11 public testimonies, holding 25 one-to-one meetings with lawmakers and meeting nine groups from both parties.

Mr Bernanke’s outreach completes a revolution in the way the Fed does business that began under his predecessor, Alan Greenspan. Until the early 1990s, the Fed did not even communicate the results of its monetary policy meetings, leaving it up to markets to work out what interest rate decision it had made. Today, it publishes full minutes from the meetings.

Mr Bernanke, who had a 75 per cent approval rating from international investors in a Bloomberg poll last week, faces a gruelling autumn when Congress looks at controversial proposals to give new powers to the Fed as a systemic risk regulator.

The chairman’s personal standing remains high. “I would be astonished if Ben isn’t reappointed,” says Alice Rivlin, a former vice-chairman of the Fed. “He has become very good at interacting with people beyond the usual circles and he is good at avoiding traditional Fed-speak.”

Our Mrs. Pelosi. Names and phrases come to mind, traitor, liar, conartist, sold out, hypocrit, user, deceptioner, criminal.
I saw a photo of her with her grandchildren gathered about, I wonder how much she paid them.
She lied to gain her position, she flat out betrayed us. Sociopaths will do about anything to gain control,  have power over others, she being a prime example.
First time I didn't cuss her, even if she would eat raw fetuses to gain power.

Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party wanted to shut down the Federal-Reserve right off the bat with his Presidency, but nooooooooooooooooooo America had to have their Hope and Change Chains or be suckered in by McCain cuz he was on da Republican Party ticket.

I hate to say this but maybe the incinerators at the FEMA Camps will make the C4L-ers the majority and then we can take back this country.
