For The Honorable Remnant
By Theodosius Myron Immaculatae

It was not so long ago
Men of Principle stood
upon History's Field
embracing the wood
of the Cross of Suffering
for the Cause of the Good
they labored
but not
in vain

And willing to endure to the bitter end
for the sake of the liberty
of foe and friend
their lifeblood drained
their purple robe shed
was it for nothing,
you Silent,
the Patriot bled?

Still more their blood
cries from the earth
as Apathy's Congress
convenes in the parlour
and sinister laughter lurks
in the hallways
where the Harlot of War
is counting her dollars

Yet a few Proud Chosen
still stand at the ready
the remnant
unyielding
choose not to be broken
myriad, gathered
and willing, refusing
the shame of silence
and Slavery's chains

The Heralds are shouting:
Awake, O you sluggard!
To those who recline in complacent repose,
Defend the Liberty that Patriot Blood has purchased,
and let all Tyranny be opposed

When the Banquet of Freedom is finally set,
and the Faithful, in joy, partake
they will bless The Cross,
that they in suffering carried,
to the summit
for Freedom's sake

Dedicated to Ron Paul and those who support the Cause of Freedom.
